Black Friday

What I'd love to do is organize a meeting with all my friends (yes I know all 2 of em :( SHUP! ) to just sit outside some abandoned structure in a highly visible area and just see how many random people get in line thinking that the ABANDONED BUILDING will eventually open for Black Friday savings.

I remember a video awhile back where people did that at an Apple store, just stood outside in line and people would get in line behind them because they figured "Oh my a line outside the Apple store! I must get in line for whatever Apple product is being released today!"

Not a fan of the whole Black Friday event.... The way people in this country tailor their entire holiday experience to buy things is rather pathetic. I've known and heard of plenty of people who can't even enjoy Thanksgiving Day/Dinner with family because they're too concerned about being out the door at 11:59 Thursday evening or mapping out some strategy to conquer stores for 18 hours. Consumer Whoredom at it's zenith. If people are really that price sensitive... then they shouldn't be buying these LCD TVs and 360s to begin with they should be concentrating on getting their financial house in order. That being said I will be grabbing a few quick things off Amazon... Including *Hopefully* a new Droid Razr for $0.01 with a new Verizon contract

I remember reading somewhere (maybe on a forum like this) of Disney employees who would do something like that. They had access to the park pretty much whenever they wanted so they would go there on their days off as a group and stand in line in front of a blank wall. Eventually tourists would start lining up behind them without even having a clue what these people were lining up for. Then they'd walk away, graciously ceded their place in line to the person behind them and go somewhere else in the park and do it again.

Oh and before I forget, I'm boycotting Target from my holiday and TP shopping this holiday season, mostly because of their annoying commercial with that coked up blonde. I think the whole "overly eager female shopper" thing is so pass

If I knew of anything that I wanted that would be on sale then I would. But so far I still haven't found anything.

I left work at 6 pm and there were already people camping out in front of the store! I guess those deals are worth missing thanksgiving, football, beds, heat, and dryness (we have been having severe rain and flooding for a couple days):rolleyes::eek:

You sure it's not displaced Occupy Wall Street-ers? They're now Occupy Best Buy-ers.

I going out to look at a Super Silver Eagle and then lunch and then a new phone battery and perhaps buy some more socks.

Well considering that I could purchase everything that I wanted on Amazon for the same or very close price, I decided that it would be best to just purchase there instead of braving the crowds in an underground Best Buy. lol

What Best Buy were you planning on going to? 86th and Lex?

Yeah that's the closest to me. I was able to purchase everything except for one blu ray on Amazon so I can avoid the madness tonight. Who knows? I might just go out tonight just to be part of the crazy. :p That Best Buy though would be crazy scary.

Well I guess I do want one thing at Best Buy but I decided to do store pickup so it'll be ready when I get there hopefully later today.

Some idiot in LA got upset at how people were shoving in the line to get an XBox and pepper sprayed a bunch of people. Only 20 people injured in the ensuing madness. She had two kids with her at the time. Very classy mom.

I didn't get to go to best buy :( My sisters and I hit the mall instead...so I got clothes and shoes instead of electronics.

Black Friday was pretty fun here. Stores were *not* busy at all. No traffic, hell even the restaurants weren't busy. Made it a bit more exciting, hit the stores at five-ish, so we weren't the crazy waiting out for days.
