Thank you! It's not like these "riddles" are that hard to figure out. If we want info at all, we are going to have to accept the fact that he can't just post whatever he wants because of non-disclosure agreements so it must be a little cryptic. His job is more important than giving random people thunderbolt info.

If you don't like them, you don't have to read them. That is why the internet is so awesome.

This is difficult for me to do, because I really do appreciate all of the info that people like BMX and Jay have given, but I'm playing Devil's Advocate here. First, I tend the think that if anyone in BMX's circle, who wouldn't want him to give out information do to non-disclosure agreements, wouldn't want him to give ANY information at all. Not the riddle part AND not the part where he is eluding to anything. So, I'm not sure the riddles are necessary, but I could be totally wrong. Secondly, to say that if you don't like it you don't have to read it is sort of silly...not to call you silly, it's just not an adult way to approach this. The poster has just as much of a right to comment on BMX's comments as BMX has to post it in the first place. Again, I'm only trying to see this thing through and not pass judgement on either side. As I wrote above, BMX did have it right when he said that we should take this light.

I post things how I post them because thats what I choose to do. I have never had an issue before with it and the reasons why are my own. Those that follow me understand that the #sneakypanda tweets are my way to share information in a way I enjoy, that my followers enjoy and hopefully understand.

I actually ask sites to NOT quote me because I DONT want to have to explain the things i say to those that cant divine my meaning.

To think Im doing it to "Stir the pot" when I have been doing everything in my power on dozens of forums to correct information is rather amusing..

I understand the need to be "socially responsible" and to clarify information I share but on the other hand.. ITS THE INTERNET and its about as Social responsibly as Paris Hilton running a daycare... I have changed my twitter to private and will be making some other changes to ensure that everyone understands what i mean when I say it..

I appreciate the input an as always all opinions matter so I respect them in kind..

I'm sorry, but Black_Man_X's tweet (and this thread where he backtracks) adds absolutely nothing beneficial to those who are waiting for the TBolt. All it did was cause chaos and confusion. We're all still at square ONE!

Seriously, people. Stop hating on the Panda. How many other people do you see coming to forums and trying to keep us in the light about things "big brother" keeps us in the dark about. The fact is, he doesn't have to say ANYTHING to ANY of us. He chooses to, and that sets him a notch above most other people in the business.

His information consistently straightens false information out, and is consistently reliable and accurate. Remember his tweets about the Bolt in March? People hatin' on him, saying February, and he said it "could come sooner". But in the end, he was right. He knows what he is talking about, and we are privileged to have him share with our various Android communities. Because at the end of the day, he has an actual job. He doesn't have to come here at all.

But he does. And for that, we salute you, Panda.

It isn't his fault that people read more into his statement than was there. His tweet about the Bolts being a go was beneficial--he was notifying the community that they had resolved issues, and were finally ready for us to handle.

Any information people tried to pull out of that in regards to release date were just speculation. There is a lot more to a phone release than them being ready to go. Shipping, advertising, training, all that stuff.

Chaos is not so bad; it's just the way reality is much of the time. Out of the chaos of this situation, which the panda did not create, by the way, he chose to let us know a very important piece of info--the Bolt is finalized. Final firmware. Ready to go. It's coming. Before his tweet, half the people here and elsewhere were ready to give up completely on this failure of device with 2-3 hours of battery life. Now we know it's finalized.

Thunderbirds are go.

Just curious if BMX has any comment on the following:

A claimed leak by a Verizon financial analyst who (also through a simple "code") indicates that the TB will be available on March 10th.

Link.

Any idea if that post is genuine? Either based on the credibility of the poster (not personal knowledge but simply based on what he said, his job description, etc.) or ultimate conclusion of the post itself?

Thanks for contributing what you can.

Here's a thought. Don't listen to him. If you find him to be more of a hindrance than a help, look the other way or try a different arena to get the info. With my former coworkers and friends over at vzw, I was getting little to no info. Panda and his poem gave me the rough release time frame I was looking for. I have been at Big Red and they do not do anything by a normal standard. When you supply the best available product, you tend to bend the rules on how things go, for the good or bad. Panda has done what he can with what he has without compromising himself. Kudos to him and thanks for the updates.

Well - not dissing you at all, but there are some cliche's that may answer your concerns:

Half a loaf is better than none, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, your mileage may vary and a watched pot never boils. ;)

Cheers!

Not to change the subject, but for my entire life...ive never been able to wrap my head around the "gift horse" cliche. I know their not really supposed to be understood, but damn, WTF?

from the OP

When I say its a "go" that means its ready.. now when marketing, inventory and the easter bunny (no double meaning there) get it to stores.. that not my job or concern..

You can tell how old a horse is by looking at the condition of his teeth. If someone gives you a horse, just take it, and don't start diminishing the value of the gift given as if you're inspecting something that you are deciding what it is worth as if you were paying for it. Or something like that.

@ cavemansol

The idea is that if some one gives you a horse you don't start looking at it teeth and complaining if it isn't perfect.

got this of some website.

It's my understanding that examining a horse's teeth is a way of determining its health and, consequently, its value. The phrase simply means when something is given to you (as a gift in this case) it's foolish or at least rude to question its value.

Kudos to Mr Black Man X I highly enjoy your entertainingly helpful, & not to mention masterfully composed riddles! Keep up the good work most if us are indebted to u for giving us some peace of mind throughout this crazy ordeal. And don't let the pessimists get u down.

As I said in another thread. I think his posts were meant to be taken at face value (and he clarifies that here). The device is a go. And he didn't say it was launching this week. I'm hoping for the 10th, but I'm thinking the 17th. It all depends on how quickly VZW can get the logistics worked out. Marketing materials are done as far as we know, and the Ad blitz from 2/14 onward was of a product launch nature.

I know this launch has made everybody crazy, but there is NO reason to be hating on the first person who told us anything of value. All of the other leaks, all of the other dates were, in hindsight, completely baseless considering the phone wasn't even ready. Thanks, BMX!

Referring to the "thunderbolts are go" thing Panda posted....uh you guys know when a game goes "gold", it means that its in the final stages. I'm assuming this is what he means when he said this, that the phone has gone through the final stages. (Its from a games standpoint, not sure if It can relate to a phone.)

Thank you Panda for all your dedicated work.

Thanx to the Panda. And many will be happy now that he has gone private on his twitter.

Not me, people just push to far, when someone is trying to get info out.

Thanks BMX I was thinking about starting a counseling thread for android junkies. These Thunderbolt threads have been my undoing. Almost forgot why I got one of these devices. Still I compared the camera on my droid x to my friends incredible camera I was like dang the incredible has a better camera. Then I started dreaming of the Thunderbolt again...
.... Almost think I would rather have a droid incredible than a droid x

To all the people complaining about "misinformation", I have one thing to say to you. NDA, im sure VZW has him under about a dozen of those nice "we fire you in a heartbeat if you say a word about any of this" contracts. :)

I for one am appreciative of the information you are providing with risk to your job. It's actually sad that you're providing the information that Verizon and HTC should, IMO provide to its customers. Please don't take any of the misdirected frustration that may come your way. I'm sure some people are just a little confused about the lack of information out there. Thanks for any and all info.

I agree. I see it more as a change in plans rather than misinformation. I think that the dates thrown out have all been totally probably dates, but for whatever reason, they were changed. This is why Big Red hasn't made an official announcement. They don't want their head on the chopping block.

I give thanks to anyone who is willing to provide some sort of information. It's better than nothing at all. And like BMX said, it is just a phone. It's exciting, it's a cool new gadget, but it is a phone. There's no use wasting negative energy over it. It will come when it comes.

We all respect you for the information you put out, and would never want you to jeopardize your job, it's just tough with the way VZW is handling this.

Who cares if Panda didn't give the information you wanted to hear... he gave us information - hinted at certain things and simply knowing that the Thunderbolt has passed the final stages (a "go") is good enough for me. Appreciate it.

He put his ass/job on the line by saying anything. If I were him, I would regret trying to help ease your minds with all the bashing you're giving him. I applaud that he's protected his Twitter account.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it took another month for this phone to be released even though it's a "go." If the packaging changes, or the marketing materials changes, if any aspect has changed... that takes time to prepare... probably 2 weeks minimum. Don't forget there are people working their asses off trying to get this phone right and eventually in your hands so you can enjoy it.

Panda did his part... it's time for you to thank him for it! Thank you!

VZW never gave a release date, but they could jump in and squash rumors. I have reps giving me info that keeps changing. I understand that problems come up and they bump back a date or two, but this thing has been handled poorly. I have to believe that Bestbuy wouldn't just make up the Feb 14 date, and get people to pre order the phone, and leave them hanging. The first date that I had was the 24th then the 28th, and now it that the phones have been shipped, but don't knowih it is the 3rd or the 10th, that's the latest as of yesterday. I have questions every day, when is my bolt going to be in?????? Its getting old really fast.

I was in my local Best Buy last night and he said they got an email from the HTC rep that it's gonna be April now. Take it however you want. Just relaying info.
