Blur-less Honeycomb?

After watching the video of the tablet being demonstrated, I couldn't tell if it will come Blur-less and Vanilla or not. I LOVE the idea of this tablet and will likely buy it regardless but I truly hate Moto-Blur. It would be wonderful if it would come in pure Android Honeycomb.

I highly doubt it will be blur-less. However, with Rubin saying that this is the tablet sitting on their desk every morning, I don't think the bootloader will be locked. I could be wrong, but if Moto and Google were working relatively close together on this, then I wouldn't be surprised if the Android team told Moto, "hey, don't lock the bootloader, it defeats the entire purpose of Android's existence."

I'll take Blur if it means no locked bootloader.

I don't know, I feel the exact opposite. I could see a locked bootloader, but this will most likely be pure Google, like the original Droid. I guess we will know soon enough.

Blur is a deal killer for me on any device - especially this one

I highly doubt they put blur, as we know it atleast, on a all tablet OS. Remember this OS is for tablets. Blur would kinda defeat some of that IMO

I have my fingers crossed that it will be vanilla. I really want to get a tablet, but I'm willing to wait if a real competitor for the iPad will emerge.

I hate Blur on my droid X, but it isn't a deal breaker to run ADW, LP or another launcher (currently I use Zeam). The newest ADW EX is beautiful and if you've seen the youtube vids of it running on the viewsonic tab man it's easy on the eyes. I doubt Blur being basically dormant underneather what every non stock launcher you prefer will ruin the user experience of this tab.

If they plan to ship the Xoom with the Blur interface, i hope they'll make it look good and redesigned to fit the bigger screen etc. I really like the dock they have in Blur.

So buy it and install Launcher pro or another home replacement, problem solved. Thats what I intend to do if I pick one up.

How would that solve the problem? Wouldn't it then be like a Galaxy Tab running Froyo or the phone I have now? Is there any guarantee that Launcher Pro would work with 3.0? Wouldn't that defeat the sole purpose of 3.0 - developed for tablets?

Hopefully Blur is nowhere near this thing. I'm with howarmat thinking it won't make it to this device.

Google said honeycomb was developed around this tablet, also of the demo video show pure honeycomb.. i dont see any indication of blur

Er... this is the flagship device for honeycomb. There is no chance, whatsoever that Blur would be on it.

I would think it will be a vanilla version as well for a couple of reasons:

1. From what it sounds like this is THE Honeycomb tablet to have, it will reveal 3.0 and I don't think they would let Moto add anything to it for its initial release.

2. I think if they did it would be a timing issue. If they want to release this tablet in the coming month or so that would mean that Google would have to finish HC very soon to give Moto time to add Blur before the release.

I just don't see it happening. I think this device will be similar to the D1, blur-less and unlocked bootloader.

Well Moto said that unlocked bootloaders are special agreement situations, like with the Droid 1 which is a flagship Google device. So don't give up hope yet.

Now if we can just get a after the fact agreement on my X I'd be all peachy.

Fair comment there.

I'm sure there will be skins but it'll take a little while for the manufacturers to work out what they want to do with it.
