Running this from explorer (as administrator) doesn't work, just opened cmd prompt, changed to directory and ran from there.

Phone now rooted! Thanks !

i can not get this to work i did through command prompt and through the way the video said to do i just got the the phone yesterday please help

Turned on debugging, downloaded drivers, rooted. Whole process took less than 5 minutes from finding this guide to root. Thanks!

Ok, am giving up on this... Was hoping to root my first android phone, but alas, I have Windows 7 64 bit, and it cannot see my phone... It sees it as a cd drive. Is there any way around this, or am I doomed to the shame of unrootedness?

well i do use a windows 7 32 bit never i cant do the process in that version. i do the root in my netbook windows starter and i have a emulator oracle virtual box in my main computer i instaled windows starter the windows reconnoiter the phone and install driver

i have tried 10x to download the file, the downloads successful but when i try to extract the zip i get a message that it is broken or in an unknown format,,, any ideas?

i got the file. (i dl'd with the phone via "download all files" and extracted it via "archidriod") i copy pasted it onto c drive. i have tried right click the bat, run as admin, with and without compatibility, and various selections for compatability. i tried rightcilck cmd prompt, run as admin and typing the path. (C:\warpdrive.bat) still fails. so no mater what i do, on 64 bit i'm boned?

if it helps my rm just bought this phone today and it came pre installed with the 2.3.5 update.

So, is there any way to work around this, since I have windows 7 64 bit? I would really like to root my Droid.

Huh? It will be listed as a CD drive in your Explorer maybe, but just expand the + signs and it should look like this:

phone.jpg

Run Setup.exe and hit OK when the pop-up box prompts you to do so. Make sure you had previously turned "USB Debugging" ON in the Settings > Applications > Development menu. If you have done everything right, Windows should recognize your Warp (might take a sec to load). I had to post this cuz I'm on a 64-bit 7 install and your posts had me scratching my head... worked fine for me the first time around.

**** this is what I got after 5 times of doing it

same here, but 30-50x with various compatibilities and multiple attempt at each setting...

Edit-and to clarify, it finds the phone fine, both as and adb composite device, and when i use mass storage. I have also tried this in xp 32 bit (sp3) with the exact same message a the post above me

2.3.5 I downloaded the drivers from this guide, turned on debugging and ignored any windows pop ups about a cd drive that came up.

I have atempted to root with the same results as previously posted with not being able to chmod permissions. I have the 08 build and using windows 7 64bit with Android 2.3.5. I have tried all of the previous solutions without luck. Any more ideas? Thanks.

HERE IS WHAT TO DO

Take your files you extracted > Copy them(not in a folder) > go you C: drive then to users folders and open up the user you are logged in as. paste the files into that folder > then run the WarpDrive.bat by right clicking that file and selecting Run As Administrator!

This will work in all windows 7 Versions .. 64 home 64 pro 32 home ... ect ..

I hope this helps!!!
