Root [Boost Mobile] Anyone buy this ZeroLemon 7000 mAh battery?

Just got a email earlier today from the company selling the ZeroLemon battery. It seems that someone has finally realized what in the heck just happened and that they made a mistake.

I have to admit, dealing with stupid people who are supposed to represent a company's customer service department really pisses me off. It is their job to investigate a legitimate complaint and HELP the customer resolve the issue in a quick and timely manner.

Unfortunately, Bastexwireless has terrible customer service. Well, let me take that back because I don't want to include people there that I'm sure do their job very well. I just wish I would have been able to get one of them in the beginning.

After 5+ emails, mostly from different people each time, I finally reached someone who actually wanted to try and help me.

This is the last email that was sent. Finally..... someone with common sense!

Email-

To Me,

I apologize if my previous email was not clear.

The customer service representative before me had cancelled your entire order. I see the additional $5.00 was charged as you purchased the item using a P.O. box address as a P.O. box sometimes may not be large enough to fit the order inside.

Nevertheless, we are more than willing to waive the fee if you repurchase the item again. Simply contact us once more and let them know about our previous emails stating that we would waive the extra shipping costs.

I apologize for the miscommunication and confusion on our part. Please give us a chance to make it right.

Customer Rep.

We'll see what happens and where I go from here. I am definitely going to get an extended battery, I just need to make my mind up on which one I'm going to get. :)

I say get the battery... you know you still want it... it's still well worth it, now that they excepted their error... just hope that you don't have any other issues cuz it may take another 5 emails to get someone helpful... you made a good point, you win.
Good luck on the second chance.

Well that's good to see at least 1 person has a responsible behavior.

I had a similar experience with HP and a laptop I had bought.
It came with NO recovery disc and that surprised me, so I kinda shrugged it off at the time....until.....I found it had vista, and at this time vista was rather buggy, so I decided to put on xp pro. After finding out it was not easy to get drivers and hardware to work with xp pro, because it was hard to find drivers....I wanted to go back to stock install, and that was by hitting f10 and holding it and it would go to a recovery partition....come to find out the partition had been formatted or I deleted ti or something, so there was no more f10.
At this point I decided to call them and ask if there was a way to recover from this, they said yes with a recovery disc....I said it didn't come with one. Of corse they were glad to send me a cd, for $40, I was like huh? your kidding right this is a joke, nope it was $40.
So I argued with them for the entire week, talking to multiple people....getting conveniently hung up on (for them anyways) and calling back, arguing all to just end up nothing happening, so that Friday, I asked the tier 1 guy if i could please talk to a manager....to my shock and surprise he asks me why, I politely explained about my situation about calling all week and it would be faster if I didn't have to, so please transfer me to the manager......he persisted to tell me during this conversation that I had to have a good excuse.....again I was floored by this attitude and response. So I finally said "I guess I'm not gonna get to talk to the manager huh?" he said nope, it had to be a good reason before he could transfer me, so I said ok I'll just call headquarters and we'll see how they like this kind of practice you all are giving, he then said "good luck with that" really smart alek and as if I would never find the number to call them.
Five mins later I called HR at the headquarters, and asked if this was common practice.....I explained what happened she was like NO way should that EVER happen, and apologized. She then said we normally charge $40 but I will overnight this cd for free, I hope this wasn't so bad for you that you don't come back. Sadly I haven't gone back, because the whole ordeal has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Another short story is I went thru a drive thru and the kid took my cash which was $20 and the change, I guess it thru them off and they thought I gave them $10, so as I counted the cash, I noticed Iw as short by $10, and proceeded to go back around thru the drive thru. As I got to the window I smiled and grined and politely said i gave you a $20.....and got this smirk and said "No you didn't!" and as I argued for about 2 mins I finally asked to talk to a manager....and she was almost going to agree with the cashier, but then I interrupted and said count the freeking drawer!......they did and found out inded it was $10 over.....gave me the $10 and said sorry in a not so sorry voice.....I was not happy to say the least....I reported it to the head office and got a big mac out of it, wooopy!, anyways at least I made my voice known.

With this kind of incompetency it's what I really loose hope in humanity as a whole.....no ones held accountable, and so much incompetence in the world today.....when does it stop or get corrected! I love my country, just don't care for some of the morons who live here......but I sure understand why other countries see us as stupid idiots who don't care and can't do anything.

Sadly I must agree.

I also been having fun with ASUS Warranty with my tf700. .. my 1 month old tablet shorted out when unplugging it last year, so I send it in to get fixed. Well they fixed it but scratched up my screen, so I sent it back. They fixed it but bent up the metal around the screen and ports so I sent it back again. They semi fixed it this time and I used it for about 10 days when it shutoff and would not show any sign of life. Back it went. They fixed it again but it came back to me with a big thumb print smudge underneath the inside of the screen... back it went. They fixed it again but now the gps was instable so after 4 days of use back it went again... After fixing it I had it for 2 weeks before it died again, and back to Asus it went... they fixed it but now it has 3 scratches on the screen, however after sending it back 8 times for a total of 182 days in the mail and in their facility I decided to go ahead and keep it with the scratches however I didn't report them so if I have another issue I'll be sending it back to get the screen fixed as well.... lots of fun... I ended buying a used one off of ebay to use while my $500 tablet was in the mail.

I hate to hear that some of you have experienced similar issues dealing with these large companies. It truly is sad that they have employees working in customer service who have absolutely no business in that department.

As for the battery, I still haven't made up my mind about going with Zerolemon even though I know it's a good battery. The whole ordeal with them has just left a bitter taste in my mouth.

It's nice to know there are other options available to me. The Hyperion actually has some great reviews. I've also read that their customer service is outstanding. I'm going to give it a few days and let myself cool off before making my final decision.

I must admit though, it was nice to finally speak with someone in customer service who had the common sense to understand what had happened and offer me a reasonable solution.

I know this thread is about the Zerolemon so forgive me for going off topic but have any of you purchased the Hyperion?

Thanks :)

Hey bro, check your PM's I've got an offer for you.

You're awesome bro. Friends like you are few and far between. I cannot say thank you enough for what you've offered to do bro and I'll definitely owe you a solid. :)

No problem buddy! After one of the worst years of my life in 2012, I have a lot of good karma to pay forward from 2013, one of the best years of my life! Plus, my Broncos won today, so I am in a great mood for sure!

Three days is for wimps, I've been getting 4 or 5 for the most part! Kernel tweaks are still valid by the way, as far as the kernel knows, one battery is as good as another.

I'm very curious to know what these kernel tweaks would be.;)

For what it's worth, my very first experience with an extended battery was with a Hyperion, on my very first android phone (a Transform Ultra). That thing just kept going, and going, and going...

I'm very curious to know what these kernel tweaks would be.;)

My current setup with dkp kernel is (using Andromizer Pro, Trickster Mod will do these as well):

CPU Min/Max: 108MHz/1404MHz
CPU Governor: Freelunch
I/O Scheduler: Zen
Multicore Power Saving: 2
TCP Congestion Control: Westwood
Read Ahead Buffer: 2048KB for both internal and external

I used to undervolt by -75 across the board as well, which was stable for me. However, dkp is already undervolted by default, and I have read some things recently that suggest, based on the physics involved in transferring power from the battery to the CPU, that undervolting can make the unit as a whole work harder to draw the necessary power. Therefore, I have left the standard dkp settings in place for the voltages. Users who are much more technically oriented than myself can also go into the governor settings and apply further tweaks, but that is beyond my abilities. I am currently getting more than four days consistently between charges on my ZeroLemon 7000 with this setup. I also don't use things like GMail on my phone, which is a huge resource/battery hog, along with Google's desire to pinpoint your location at all times (GPS is sufficient), and I use wallpapers that are predominantly black (currently using an all black one) to take advantage of the AMOLED display (black pixels simply don't get turned on, whereas on other types of screens, the display has to project a black pixel in order for the screen to be "black").

I've never tried to use either of those apps. They have a TON of options, wow. I'm using Trickster Mod since I can change more setting without having to pay but I'll probably spend the money to get Andromizer Pro.

I'll try your setting out since you seem to be getting more battery life than I do. I normally do 54MHz though and I think 1242MHz. It was rather slow though since it stayed at 54MHz most of the time on freelunch. Haha, I don't even know what half of the settings do. Time to do some reading in my break between classes today.

Thanks! :D

Two other apps you will want to employ for this are ROM Toolbox Pro and Quadrant Standard (I don't believe in the power of a high benchmark number, but this is a useful app for testing your daily setup; users who post the highest benchmarks they can get are tweaking their phones just to get those numbers, the setup they use for that is not a realistic daily driver mode). ROM Toolbox Pro has a ton of useful features, the one I like in this scenario is the ability to benchmark your Read Ahead Buffer and find out your optimal read ahead size; my phone performed best at 2048KB. I use QS to get comparisons on my max clock speed-drop the max by one level, perform a benchmark, drop another level, do another benchmark. 1404MHz as my max is a good compromise where the speed difference is negligible when compared to 1512MHz (I would never overclock this phone, standard 1512 setting is way more than enough). As far as the min setting, I used 54 for a while, but 108 is a little more in my comfort zone, where I don't worry about "sleep of death" from too low of a minimum setting. As always, these settings work well for me, no two users are alike in terms of installed apps, normal usage, etc., etc. Andromizer Pro is nice from another standpoint, you can choose to make changes and apply them temporarily, as in they will last until your next reboot, at which point the previous settings will default. This allows you to try things out until you are happy that the settings you have chosen will work on a more permanent basis.

I'm seriously thinking about getting this. Thing that worries me is, is there a belt case for this big Honker of a battery?
I'm all for functionality vs looks, so a fat phone won't bother me a bit, but not having a belt clip car for the phone and having to put the phone in the pocket kinda bothers me

Zerolemon actually make belt clip for the extended battery. Also, here are some other belt holsters & clip, according to the reviews it fits with the extended battery. There are more options if you search for it. Good luck.

Zerolemon belt clip

Rebono Belt Holster

Case Pouch Holster

Seidio SURFACE

I don't know if I would wear a belt clip with the ZL. It would be much too easy for it to get caught on stuff and go flying.

I use the Maxpedition 5 inch holster, it has built in belt straps and is both flexible and adjustable, so I was able to use it with both the stock battery and now the ZeroLemon. It also has a strap that locks the phone into the holster. Really good company, their products are modeled on military/tactical applications where you can add or remove various modules to suit your needs.

The protective case and holster in my earlier post is nice looking. This is a link to my post. The link to the red and black case w/holster is in it.

http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=6379668

Edit: this case and holster look a lot like my OtterBox. It even has the built in screen protector. If it's like the one that comes on the OtterBox then it's coming off and a regular screen protector is going on the phone. The one with the Otter affected the screen sensitivity terribly.

^^bad link

Fixed. Sorry not sure where that link I had came from....I can say twilight zone, can you? :)

From watching a couple of youtube videos, it looks like the Hyperion case is a bit more rugged from the looks of it.

I'm kinda leaning to the Hyperion, but I dunno, I can deal with the case if the ZL is better.....but it'd be cool if someone had a review or 2 or 3 to look at, or maybe some videos as well for the two.

Stupid question, but I gotta ask.....I take it that instead of the cases that came with the batteries, you'd use this rugged case as the backing+case instead? similar idea as the ones that came with the battery only using the rugged case instead.

Yes for sure! The one that comes with it looks like a good back but then a rubber gel like case. The rugged case has higher sides to protect screen, better impact, better all around. well worth the money, have one on my prevail and is great.
