Root [Boost Mobile] Anyone buy this ZeroLemon 7000 mAh battery?

IT'S ON!!! Charged up and running the Zerolemon 7000 mAh battery plus rugged case. I'm STOKED! I look forward to seeing what the battery life is going to be like. I'm sure it will do well. This case is super nice too. I thought I may have problems with the built-in screen protector like I did with the Otter Box. I ended up having to pull the one off the Otter but not on the Zerolemon case. No Sir. The built-in screen protector for the Zerolemon case is working perfectly. SCORE!!! :D:thumbup:

Sounds great. Hoping to get mine tomorrow. Just thought to ask the same here that was in other thread. What do you all experience when battery gets below 15% ? Does the camera and flash on camera and like Dropbox sync work? Right now they won't work except I got the camera to work by going into Wanam.

Your gonna love it.....I have had mine for about 3 days now and that was just one charge :).

I had 3 days and still had 30% left, but I decided to do a battery drain and start again on the cycle, to do another full drain.

I also am using DS Battery saver, so that extends it as well.

It's hard not plugging it in every night out of habbit....but yet it's nice also.

I can say if you end up going out of town and forget your plug or charge cord, this will set your mind at ease for certain.

For a regular day to day, pfft, NO worries what so ever! I can now say just after these 3 days I've had it, I have no worries if I forget my charger stuff or not.

On a side note, I just got me a micro usb to usb female dongle tonight, so now that combined with the new battery, I can enjoy movies at work, without having to worry about the battery dying.

I have two 32gb class 10 sd cards I'm not useing, what a nice chance to use them now :).

Now, off to grab my dvd's and dust off the older ones and re-watch some movies.

I've messed around and hit the reset tab at the top of the battery screen a few times but that only resets the things that have been draining the battery, not the time itself thankfully.

Running newest version of Wicked Sensations and dkp kernel.

I've actually had quite a few phone calls today and a good many text messages. I've also been in and out of Tapatalk all day long doing some reading. Screen brightness has been set to about half way so it's been pulling some juice. I've rebooted a few times and that takes a good bit of juice too, especially when wiping the cache and Dalvik. I went in and made some kernel adjustments that will hopefully get more time out of the battery. I'll definitely end up getting several days use from my 1st charge. Definitely one beast of a battery.

Spent right at $20 for the Zerolemon rugged case and I have to be honest, I like it better than the OtterBox. I haven't had to pop the built-in screen protector out and the inner case actually has more snaps which makes it more secure. Definitely a nice case and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a rugged case and holster for the Zerolemon 7000.

Don't get me wrong about the OtterBox either. It's a nice case and will protect the phone just fine. Especially with the lighter stock battery. ;)

Edit :

Forgot to mention something that may be a very important issue for some people. The proximity sensor is not allowing the phone to come back on when I pull it away from my head during a call. Pretty sure it has to do with the issue with the case mentioned in the YouTube video in one of the earlier posts. This is not really an issue for me because the home button turns the phone back on during the call. The guy mentioned it wasn't an issue with stock based ROMs in his video. Hopefully the home button will allow me to override when running an AOSP ROM. I will definitely let you guys know if I am able to do so when I try Carbon out later. Right now it isn't an issue for me at all. Having the proximity sensor is nice but not a necessity for TW.

Edit:
After thinking about it a little, I may end up removing the small plastic bar like the guy did in the video. It will be an easy fix. I'll just have to see how it does with AOSP. I'll probably make my decision at that point.. May not even have to remove the whole piece. Depends exactly where the sensor is related to the small plastic bar.

EDIT:
@alpha2k if I modify the case, I haven't forgotten your request that I make a video. Right now I'm just gonna use the home button to turn the screen off and on during a call. I may not even end up taking the whole plastic piece off. Depending exactly where the sensor is, I may be able to use a Dremel and just make a notch for the sensor instead of taking the whole piece off. I haven't taken the case off yet since putting it on. I'll probably take it off and look at it tomorrow. It takes a little time and patience to get it on and off. LOL! :p:D
As I mentioned earlier, the case has a lot of snap tabs.

Edit once again :

I just read through the thread for this case over at XDA and I didn't see any mention of trouble with the proximity sensor. Also, the video above is for the S4. I am wondering what's up! Definitely going to get this figured out tomorrow!

I'm getting kinda antsy to install carbon but really wanna finish the condition stuff on this battery so quick question....I've already been thru 1 cycle 100%-3% then charge to full, Think I could install carbon rom with this and be ok or will it freak things out?

You will be totally fine.

How is that new battery working? When it runs down below 15% can you use the camera flash and if you have dropbox and take pics, does it say plug in to resume upload? My big battery should be here in a day or so. Still wondering about functions when under 15% if it lasts that long from 15-2% when it finally needs a recharge?

I was playing around and I installed another camera. my battery is low now and the stock won't flash but the added one does. So just use the stock one all the time and if need to take a pic with flash on low battery just take with the extra added one.

I'm still trying to kill this thing man. Going on 4 days bro. INSANE! I'm at 16% now and still have flash. Won't know until I hit 15%. Thanks for the info about using a different camera app. Which one did you use that allows for the camera to flash after 15%?

I've pulled out the built-in screen protector hoping it would help the proximity sensor. It did not. The bar at the top doesn't actually cover the sensor but looks like it may be close enough to cause a problem. Gonna probably end up taking very sharp wire cutters to remove the small bar at the top. We shall see. I haven't made my mind up yet since it's not an actual problem with the TW ROM.

HD camera Ultra worked at 4 percent battery, flash too. And quick pick it makes a separate folder for that camera.

UPDATE - EDITED -

CAMERA FLASH WILL WORK REGARDLESS OF BATTERY PERCENTAGE. :D

Running Wicked Sensations ROM. In Wanam/system there is an option to completely disable the camera warning. The camera flash will work with this ROM'S stock app as long as Wanam is enabled and set up properly. SWEET!! Glad I went back and found this.

Nice to know you've found another camera app that'll work with ROMS that don't have Wanam.

I kind of figured that but I am surprised that nobody else chimed in about that problem. At least there's a camera that will work with the flash in an emergency with the big battery when it get that low and takes forever before time for a recharge. In the Wanam settings you can make the stock camera work without the flash down to 5 percent.

Got my battery and case, charging up and will see how it does. Like the heavier feel of the phone. The case is really nice and works great so far.

You are gonna love it, I'm sure; it is the complete package as far as I am concerned between the nice case and the need to charge only about once per week! My battery is currently at 81% after 33 hours since last full charge, running Carbon ROM with stock kernel.

I agree w/ Struckn. :D

This battery is bad to the bone. Also, even though I'm gonna end up doing some modification to the rugged case, I'm still glad I bought it. It'll definitely help save the phone if it gets dropped. The holster is also a nice feature.

Guys, I just activated Wanam, went in and checked the settings for Wicked Sensations. There is actually and option in Wanam under SYSTEM which allows the low battery camera warning to be disabled completely or choose which battery percentage for the alarm to activate at. Wish I would have checked this before posting that the flash wasn't working. DUH! :eek:The flash will work with Wicked Sensations until the phone is dead. Nice. Also nice to know there's a camera app that'll work regardless of the ROM.

I must have missed that. I will check that out, Thx!

When I got the phone I ordered the zerolemon 2400 battery for my waterproof case. I never ran the stock battery at all. The 2400 would last all day no matter the use but one day was all it would do. In the beginning when cycling the battery, sometimes at the end of the day I would have to work it extra hard to drain it to get ready for the next recharge. That battery was $8 on ebay. The stock cover just fit, I mean just fit. So if anyone doesn't want the huge battery that 2400 is a great battery and will last the day. Just wanted to put that out there for anyone that just needs that extra to get to the end of the day.

On moar8 I cannot find that setting. I found one that the camera will work but not the flash.

Give the newest version of Wicked Sensations a try bro. It's nice plus it has the camera option in Wanam. Many are using the KTOONSEZ kernel but not me. I decided to stay with DKP and mine is running fine.

I will give it a shot this weekend.

The. 04 version of WS won me over. I have been running with it all week. Flashed Carbon and CM 10.2 but went back to WS for the DD.

I have ran DKP since Ktoonsez did not have a version for 4.3. No problems.

I flashed the newest Ktoonsez for TW 4.3 last Sunday. I have been very happy with the results.

Both are good kernels.

On Carbon, or CM11 / CM10.2 I am not sure if there is any advantage to replacing the stock kernel.

From the bit I've read about AOSP, there seems to be some kernel issues with the custom kernels. None with the TW ROMs as far as I can tell.

If running KToonsez, remember to read the kernel thread and make the adjustments recommended if you choose to run the KToonservative gov..

I've stuck with DKP but people are raving over in the Wicked Sensations thread about how well the 747 kernel is doing. I think you're gonna be good with either you choose.

I have just been in contact with the company that distributes for Zerolemon. I told them about my issues with the proximity sensor and the rugged case. They replied letting me know that a new replacement case was being shipped and that I did not even have to return the one I have now.

I had heard mention that the company distributing for Zerolemon was hard to get along with. That's bullshit. They replied to my issue in less than 24 hours totally wanting to get my issues resolved. Not only did they reply, I've already got a tracking number for the new case. :D:thumbup:

For those of you wanting a video on how to fix the proximity sensor, I apologize. I got a wild hair up my ass and took a small pair of wire cutters to remove the upper slim plastic piece. THE PROXIMITY SENSOR IS FIXED!

I'll make a short video going over what I did to fix it. It literally took me less that 3 minutes to fix. LOL. Easy peasy baby. Easy peasy. :D

If you are on any of the phone apps that will not allow you to play the video then I have fixed this for you. Download zip, extract, and watch the video. Those on computers can just click on the actual picture here and the video will begin to play as it is posted on Photobucket.
