Root [Boost Mobile] My different ROM experience

Hello all i just wanted to take the time to let some developers know what i think of their roms this is in no way a smackdown or diss fest but i have run a couple and am competent in what i have experienced so without further adieu i present my observations
The first rom i have used-shinjitsu 1.5beta 3:i believe that is the name if i am wrong correct me please but i had at the time not known of the swapper trick but i can safely say this rom ran extremely smooth i was still green to the capabilities of different roms at this time the only known problem i encountered is what i would like to call a whiney baby problem and that is the buttons were too hard to read grey on black
Next rom i did-noob v4:i had learned of swapper at this time so i have no inclinations to speculate on smoothness um i did not like the lack of different wallpapers and the biggest problem in fact the one i got rid of it for was now my warps back button no longer lights up at all im not saying its the roms fault but shinjitsu didnt do it um i have messaged the dev quite a bit and no reply so if you like a helpful dev steer clear
Finally-unitology v1.0 i know its a disco but i figured id try extremely laggy even with swapper says i have apps but they are missing from my drawer force closes alot and since root the only rom to actually pull off a random reboot so i have no wishes to keep it dev support i didnt even try being unitology is dead so no comment there
In conclusion i have decided to go back to shinjitsu and grow a pair and ignore the hard to see buttons my only wish is i knew where to get the stock alarm app for the warp i have not found a suitable replacement yet with the one alarm sound that wakes me the buzzer sound well thats my experience i know its not all of them but its the well knowns at least thanks for reading
 
I've had no issues talking to the dev's of those roms, were the issues brought up on their specific threads? I just wonder if there is something more that we missed?
 
Hmm, cant comment on the roms, have not flashed one yet, but as far as your back button not lighting up, my home button quit lighting up. could be they just burned out, or a hardware issue. I dont think it has anything to do with flashing roms simply because we both have a similar problem. Hope this helps.

The only Dev I messaged in a pm multiple times and also commented on his posts was the noob dev I never got a reply but like I said I didn't blame the from for doing the button short I was just wondering if I was alone

My home button went out and came on now it's out again.
 
I like that your opinionated and pretty unbiased. But you may be being too harsh. Especially for forums where hard work is done and shared for FREE. I cant speculate on why mr bobo hasn't responded to you Because Idk. But if i had to guess you might have came across ill tempered to him... So he may have just ignored you. I too am a big fan of Shinjitsu as a whole but i am also now just as big of a fan of mr bobos rom. And i can personally say he is a very good dev and he is also very good at responding to anyone that asks a question or states a comment. I like mr bobo and his rom is finely tuned and debugged..

And to defend ApolloStar2109 a bit for unitology, that rom is discontinued and it says so on the header. Meaning its without dev support meaning it is as is for now. But im sure you only tried the newest version which we all knew had some bugs and it was our job to inform him of them as we are essentially just testers. He's not being paid.. But his versions b4 that were more debugged because he was still supporting them and trying to make e them bug free and fine tuned.. Apollo and any other developer on these forums take time amd skill and try to create masterpiece roms for us, as of lately even incorporating things that our phone would never have. Like notification toggles and swipe to clear, extended power menu, swap support, overclocking .. These are things that would be incompatible and foreign to the warp without the hard work of others. Just remember that when you find an issue or something you don't like on a rom /upgrade that you didn't have to pay for

Quick friendly question just for clarification... Aren't you the one that we all tried to help for a long time rooting and the forums as a whole were constantly criticized for not being able to solve your problems rooting? And you wanted to root without access to a computer?

None of this is meant to offend but it is all 100 percent fact. Its jist how it is

I honestly don't know how I missed your questions so I apologize for that but if you follow my n00b ROM thread you can't say I don't support the rom... I am however doing this as a hobby and have had a busy summer with periods where I was away being a dad to my six children or busy with work sometimes for a week or two at a time. If you still have questions I will do my best to answer them, I actually am very active on the threads and like to help

Actually Mr Bobo, no need for a explaintion here, you do GREAT work and should be commended for all the time and effort you put in to your HOBBIE. Kudos Sir..... :D

All dev's should be commended for there work here, as stated before its all done for FREE people, so if someone doesnt get back to you or your question doesnt get answered right away, be patient, not disrespectful.
 
OK I understand if sum1 has an issue,glitch,or operating problem with a rom..but what's the whole point of making a thread to point out all the microscopic issues with the roms?Im sure all the developers will agree with me that every fone is like a finger print,and even though they r the same model,they r all different internally in alot of ways.I have never had an issue with any of the roms apollo,shinru,or mr.Bobo have made..not any that were bad enough to post a thread about anyways..I was with Apollos work since his first one to his last one.same with shinru.came in late on the noob rom(which imrunning now).its almost a miracle in itself that we can even have these roms for this fone.(which takes months sum times to make.I don't know the first thing about making rooms and most of the peeps on the android forums don't.we should be greatful to these guys.if u got glitches of bugs, ask how to fix it when u have the rom.don't nitpick about them after.the back button issue has nothing to do with any roms or tweaks.that's a hardware or equipment issue..might have got wet or dropped, ect. but who knows..that's what the forums r for..TO FIX THE ISSUES....ALL I GOTTA SAY IS GOOD JOB GUY!! KEEP IT UP!!everyone else...BE GREATFUL AND NOT SO PESCIMISTIC (if I even spelled that right. Lol)

P.S. if u dont have enough wallpapers,go to play store! If uncant see cuz the theme is too dark,ask for help..if u havd a rom that has an app drawer and it says u have certain apps and u cant see them,go to ur launcher settings and make sure those apps arent being hidden.it says in big words "hide apps".all u gotta do is select it,the next step dosent take rocket science to check or uncheck the ones u want shown or hidden.sorry to everyone if i sound rude..it just pisses me off to no end for a thread to be made for criticism.cuz thats what it is, cuz thats what it sounds like...like they say "perception is reality".
My perception is criticism, so thats wat it to me...hope noone gets offended,but im not the kind of person to hold back what i think when i think sumthings messed up..

Okay, let me make some things perfectly clear. We love our dev's. These guys (for the most part) work their tails off to further the Android experience on these phones and provide their work for free to the community. Remember, these are regular people with jobs and families and interests out in the real world that might be a little more satisfying than coming here only to have to read things like "you promised the update by Thursday and it's already 12:04 am ... WHERE IS IT?" or "You really messed up this rom, that icon is one pixel too far to the left." Questions almost always get answered here, just not as promptly as we may like.

That said, try to also remember that users who flash these roms are really putting their trust in the reviews and comments on these forums to get an idea about whether or not it's the next best thing since deep fried sliced bread covered in chocolate, or a steaming pule of radioactive dog ... um ... hair. ;) It can be frustrating to ask a question only to be dismissed, ignored or confused. Most of the time, things perceived as a criticism are really only confusion or a misunderstanding. Let's clarify and educate rather than chase them from the village with pitchforks and torches (no matter how much fun that might seem at the time.)

Now, if something isn't 100% perfect in the forums and the unicorns no longer are leaving rainbows on your pillows at night, just reach out to a staff member ... red or green ... and we'll be there faster than .... something really fast. :D
 
I am happy to help if there are still issues with my ROM, I had answered the one question I got from the OP here concerning the play store and had asked that if the issue was still there that the discussion would be brought to the noob thread:

I don't have the PM's but frankly my inbox fills up so often I have to purge it every day or so and I know I have missed a couple questions along the way because of the 100 PM limit.

If you have additional questions or need more clarification on n00b, please put them on the n00b ROM thread, I don't find any posts by the OP on the ROM's thread, I looked through all 400+ posts to see if I had missed it somehow but as far as I know the only spot a question was asked by the OP was in the thread above, which I had answered two days later, I know it wasn't a huge in depth answer but I did respond and was monitoring my thread for any remaining issues.

I apologize if this seems defensive but I take any comments about my responsiveness or support for my ROM seriously.
 
I totally agree with u.i know it can be confusing and its really easy to get frustrated when u dont know how to fix a problem ur having witb a rom, ect.the questions and issues should be asked when ur having them, dont nitpik months down the road about it just cuz u didnt ask enough questions.dont just try to get in touch with the developer of that certain rom, post your issues all over the forums.. Cuz most of the time u will have a crap load of people replying back that have had the same issue and came accross a way to fix it. Android Forums was made to get shit fixed!but there will never be a "perfect" rom that has NO glitches... And thats wat its all about. To see how close we can get to a Perfect Rom. All im saying is please dont turn around and spit in the devs faces by going down the lists of roms and pointing out the minor imperfections that you personally dont like and not to use a developers work cuz he didnt reply bak with in 5 mins of a question, said it was update 3 and it was actually 4, or cuz u didnt like the fact that he accidently used uppercase when replyed back to u... Lol.. The forums should never be made into a personal he hurt my feelings kind of thing. Like u said the devs r super busy.Dont get crappy about it, keep messin wit it till its fixed.
Its called loyalty and respect to these guys.I know i got alot of it for these bad mamma jammas. Lol. And if any1 dosent.. Then maybe the forums arent ur kinda thing.
Hope i didnt offend or any1 take the things i said the wrond way. I JUST TELL IT HOW I SEE IT..

Whoa guys you all are misunderstanding me here if I can ever figure out how to put a disclaimer at the bottom of my posts I will but I wasn't criticizing here I wasn't dissing extremely gratious work I was just stating what I alone have experienced there are millions of possible problems self elevated I appreciate you remembering me and I have already apologized in that post of my own will for my temper I owe you all more than I can ever repay here guys I just figured I would post my experiences and It was meant to be completely anonymous so no one outside can read and see the names of he devs but I guess the cats out of the bag hahaha but yes I said in the of post that I knew unitology is a disco so I had nothing more to add than hey this is what's available I wasn't meaning to offend just give an unbiased opinion being I know none of you as far as I know and if my posts keep getting flagged I have a feeling I'm going to meet almost every mod on here hahahz

I think I may have solved this problem I could be wrong and it could have just came back on by itself but the first things I noticed after I went to cwm recovery I was there to fix permissions you know advanced fix permissions I did it hit reboot and now the button lights up hope this solves it best of luck
