Rom is solid as a rock!!![]()
Thank you. That's high praise coming from the queen of the warp lol
Rock solid Rom, no question. I'll prolly run with it for a while,
A friend called me and asked for help on a game, Pocket Legends. I stayed on phone and signed on but my screen keeps going on and off randomly. Well it turns off everytime I touch the screen. Game works perfect when I'm not on phone. Tried several games like wordfeud and candy crush while on phone and no problem... then I tried Battle Bears and screen goes nuts again. I'm clueless to what's causing this.. only similarities i can see are that they're both mutliplayer online games and that it happens only when I try to play during a phone call. Any ideas why?

The only thing that jumps out at me is the fact that your data connection cuts while you're on a call. So what I'm thinking is this: you're on a call, so you have no data. The game loads, waits for data from the server, and can't get any, forcing it into idle while it waits. Android sees the game is in idle, and since you are on a call, it dims out the screen as always when you're on a call. What you're witnessing may be a symptom, not the cause.
Just a thought.
You may need a little more power than DS has by default, so try alien kernel for DS. If that doesn't work please let me know if the rom has been tweaked in any way, and ill see what I can figure out
Are the games more processor intensive than the one's that doesn't affect the screen?
i'm using wi-fi connection. someone told me it may be the proximity sensor.
lol sorry saw this after i saw mercury's reply. i'll try that and ty for the help. i'll post if this helps
Ill see if I can duplicate the issue on my end. Hopefully I can address the issue, and then release 1.5.6
ty again... is there any downside to the alien kernel that i should look for? ijust flashed it now to test

No alien kernel for DS works great, but it seems to draw more power lowering batter life.
I have good news. I tried out pocket legends with the default kernel and had no issues. This is good news because I am running what will become 1.5.6. I wanted to incorporate the cm7 browser in this release but its not looking like its going to happen. I'm going to purge the stock browser and return to boat for now. I should have an update for you tomorrow. Thanks for bringing this problem to my attention or I may have waited to update

just in case anyone else has the same problem (screen going on and off while using phone and playing game) changing to alien kernel fixed the problem. jimsmith808, mercuty, lilbit you guys (and girl lol) rock.

I'm thinking some of the elements of the browser may ddepend on cmparts. Which opens a whole new can of worms, but it would be awesome if someone could get it to work. I guess I got lucky porting the keyboard
