Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] DroidSmith 1.7.3 Update and Full

We should all submit our resumes! lol

BTW, nice motto signature :)

My signature? Do you know what it means? It's part of my boot screen and my PlayStation 2 case mod as well as my signature on a handful of forums. Do you know? If not I doubt you'll ever figure it out. Want me to tell you?

Yeah!! :)Tell us!!;) I'm curious :p

Hah well if you Google that exact phrase it just reveals my path through the internet though not as much as I thought it would.

It's from a series of games called Ar tonelico. The first two were on ps2 and the last one ps3. See my avatar? That's Saki from Ar tonelico Qoga, the third and final game. Which kinda sucked and killed the series. The second game was awesome especially if you are in to anime and some more "magical" types of thinking. On my pc I would fill this thread full all night talking about it. All the games use a created language called "hymmnos" to control magic and machines and things. The language is well thought out and complete and I learned it. Some of it. That's where my signature comes from. The first three words depict the speakers emotion. In this case they say that whatever is generating these feelings I want to last forever. Yea is the actual feeling, happiness. The rest, haf revm innna mea, it actually might be out of order? Wow is been so long. Anyway that's not the point. The subject of all hymmnos sentence is the speaker unless a special wood indicates its not. The subject here is "I", and it's late and no one wants a whole lesson on this as much as I want to give it.

Long story short:

It says "I am eternally happy to hold dreams inside my heart"

revm is dream
Mea is heart or soul
Innna means within
Haf ad I recall means hold as in "hold inside one's self" which is why I chose it here.

I wrote an entire application to translate this stuff once. I got pretty big notoriety on the game forum for that, though other people did it better. Mine was prettier and use the actual hymmnos glyphs...

Ah another time another place, that's why I got so excited when he said something about my signature. I have had people recognize it as hymmnos before and that excites me!

Weeeeellll... being the curious type, I did a little Googling and found the explanation you wrote on another forum. I like it! And I enjoyed your breakdown of the language on that forum as well. :)

Then again, language and codes have kinda always been my thing. :D

I thought that might be what you did. If you read the whole thread you see that guy got on to me at first for being of topic and then he was like "ooooo" I kinda wish I'd put the effort in to learning Japanese instead. I still know a good 100 words of Japanese though. It's HARD learning language as an adult. I have like a high IQ, high enough I'm not gonna tell you or I'll sound like a jerk lol, but I still can't absorb a new language well.

Yeah, I saw that too... people are always so quick to yell off-topic. Learning a language isn't easy! I started Japanese when I was a teenager, but never finished it. I only recall a handful of words today. :(

That is Totally Awesome!!!:D

In the little high school I went to (long story), we were supposed to have two semesters of Spanish. Instead the Spanish teacher quit and we got one semester of Japanese before I was even interested in it and one semester of sign language.
That Japanese teacher was far more interested in teaching us tea ceremony than the language. The signing teacher was good and I remembered quite a lot more of that than I did of the other for all the years until I decided to learn Japanese myself.

If you look at American History, you realize that every translator like Pocahontas or whoever was a little kid, because kids pick up on other languages easy since their brain space isn't occupied. Learning as a teen or adult becomes more difficult since our memory capacity is more full so its tougher to squeeze more in there.

On topic now, jimsmith how did you go about adding the Wi-Fi tethering and CPU options into setting apk in your rom? I really wanna learn so I can add it to Halo Jelly before the next release. This is about the only thing keeping me from updating.

I learned that one from Merc. You have to decompile the settings.apk and edit settings.xml. Take a look at alliance, DS or woem, and the rest is pretty easy. Let me know if you have any issues

Thanks! I'll take a look at them later today when I get back home

I've learned that language is the matter of immersing yourself in it, not taking a class for an hour or 2 a day. The classroom concept focuses on reading and writing as well, not just speaking. Think about a little kid growing up and speaking a language with no ability to read or write. All the emphasis is on speaking, and later on the reading and writing comes.
A former co-worker of mine is from Argentina and he told me some African immigrants came over to work on his parents farm and couldn't speak any Spanish (with a little choppy English at best). He goes back a year later and the guys are all fluent in Spanish (don't know if they can read or write). But same for another former co-worker who told me he took years of Chinese classes. He goes to live in Taiwan and couldn't communicate. After living there for a year he was also fluent. He was forced to think the language 24/7 and that makes the biggest difference in learning a language.
So, I'm sure if you were forced to you would be a Master at any language you choose.

Wow I didn't even know that existed, thanks!

And, I'm always bad to derail threads and get off topic... I don't mind being told to get back on topic as long as no one's a butt about it. No one here has been yet. So it's cool.

That's one of the great things about this place! I always say it's like a big family here, and we're all pretty cool with each other. :)

I know I can install other browsers but how do I remove Miren from the phone? It does not have the uninstall option in manage applications and, of course, it's not in my google play apps list.

You can uninstall with the file explorer provided in the in the Tom. Navigate to /system/app/ Then from there just delete DSMiren.apk. What would you suggest for a new browser?
