Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] DroidSmith 1.7.3 Update and Full

You can uninstall with the file explorer provided in the in the Tom. Navigate to /system/app/ Then from there just delete DSMiren.apk. What would you suggest for a new browser?

That worked.

Not sure. I jump around the most popular browsers often but haven't settled on one. Anybody have suggestions?

I do like Touchpal keyboard and using it now. I might delete the rom's keyboard. What is the file called?

I use stock browser, it has a nice theme to go with the rest of my rom but thats only because the files it depends on for theming are themed in my rom as well (framework-res.apk). If you change the theme, then the stock browser changes to match because it has so many dependencies on the framework-res.apk.

Just my two cents...

Just a heads up, be careful with your new delete power!! Some apk's are better left alone.:)

I would like to have stock browser at my disposal. Where do I get it?

Understood :)

I do use stock browser a lot also. I suppose it's because I'm used to it.

Careful with that. I like Swype which is a lot like Touchpal, on ctmod I uninstalled the standard keyboard through titanium backup. Long story short, I had installed the Swype trial and wanted to move to pay version. I uninstalled the trial keyboArd before installing pay and... left my system without a keyboard. Had to restore a nandroid backup lol, go me!

So just my two cents - leave the stock keyboard installed just in case.

Good advice. I'll consider it a little insurance policy.

One problem I'm getting is Wi-Fi stuck in "turning on" mode for long period of time when I activate. Not always but often. Occasionally will start up right away.

Edit: This happened fair amount on stock rom also. So maybe it's my phone.

Sometimes a fix permissions in your recovery program will fix that. :)
Worth a try:p

I've noticed that happening on networks that have a lot of traffic. The phone just takes a little longer to authenticate to the router.

Seen that in recovery but don't know what it's for. Any chance it will break something I don't have knowledge to repair or totally safe to do?

Completely safe to do, problems or not. :) Sometimes during a cache clear I will re do my permissions for the heck of it. Make's me feel as if the rom is running faster.:D

Usually wipes out everything, Use Titanium Backup for stuff:)

I know that TB is the app to use to manage this kind of thing but don't know how to actually use it. After installing DS, I installed my apps manually from Play. As I mentioned previously, installing custom roms, utilizing back-ups, etc is pushing my limits....so bear with me. :o

Edit: Made backup via recovery before flashing DS. Don't know if that is best way to do it.

Yep, thats the way:) Titanium has a setting for backing up apps, pretty easy actually. :D
