Fixed link, I accidentally moved it to my desktop and out of my Copy Uploads folder this morning before I left for work... I was gonna flash RCII on my way there (and I did)

Hey Skinny, in the op I noticed you said in RCIII you were going to work on MMS, did I miss something? My MMS is working fine.

Yeah, I am gonna work on theming it a bit more, and I'm going to try and add an option to break texts down into groups instead of auto mms conversion after 161+ characters. Not everyone gets great signal that's good enough to send an mms, I now live in a dead zone (I'm moving out of these apartments once my contract is over just because of that) and mms never sends in here, I figure I can't be the only one so adding that option is what my main priority for mms.apk is now.

Um, I kinda need help... (sorry I'm still learning...)

I'm trying to decompile settings.apk to add the CPU control and Wi-Fi Tethering options in, and it decompiles fine, but when I opened up settings.xml it looked like this:

There's got to be something I'm missing here.... maybe a framework file that it needs to properly decompile?

Yes, you need to have the framework-res.apk installed to decompile the settings.apk I use apktool and a bunch of jar files for my work, so I'm not much help here. Drop Merc a pm. He uses VTS, so I'm sure he can point you in the right direction.

Side note: Your work looks outstanding

I figured that out like one or two nights ago, and I use both apktool and VTS though VTS works best for me most of the time. It took me months to figure it out though... I was studying it in my math class on my laptop trying to figure out what I was doing wrong for the last two months of school, so maybe a little Googling would've helped before :o

Thanks for the tip anyway, and thanks for the compliment too! :D

Alright so if I can fix settings.apk and revise my theme (again, nearly 9 months and I still don't think it's complete...), then I'll release a 2.85 version. Some other features I plan on adding don't really take much work, like adding mercs ICS and JB sound pack... speaking of which, I thought I added one of his theme packs but for some reason after flashing RCII today I tried setting my ringtone... no extra sounds. I may also remove CPU Control in settings.apk, Voltage Control seems to do the job better with an init.d script as opposed to an app running and eating up memory as a startup service. Probably gonna do it in RCIII, if that doesn't work out then off to RCIIII.

Alright, plans for RCIII are the following:

Crap, I was typing this post while eating and I forgot some of the changes!:(

What I do remember, is to remove the GB music player I left in on accident, fix mobile networks under settings, add in my updated theme, and remove CPU control from settings. I'm also going to see if I can slim down or compress the rom a bit more to save a little space... maybe. Also gotta do a little smali editing, I just wanna change the clock color in the status bar but God help me because the last time I did that I busted my butt off trying to figure it out for nearly a week.... I just wanted to change the color! D:

Anything y'all would wanna see? CM9/10 wallpapers, JB sounds, anything? Remember enough people have to agree for me to try it, while these may be RCs its still hard work adding things in sometimes, and I refuse to do something that one person wants and everyone else doesn't.

Resource optimization should be the priority, because this rom is almost perfect:D

Alright then! I will also look into mods and tweaks that can extend battery life without compromising performance.

JB and ICS sounds can be flashed with Merc's sound pacs :)

I know, but I don't really wanna see the old gingerbread sounds in this rom since it draws away from the theme... in my view, a full theme touches the UI, the sounds, and the prompts. For the most part, I have the UI down, and the prompts need to be more JB-like. I know all of us that had SK/CM10 got at least one fc, and the prompts when that fc happens don't say "Sorry!" And rub salt in the wound. Its sweet and simple ^_^ the only thing left is the sounds, and gingerbread sounds in a JB styled rom doesn't really cut it for me. If I replace them with Mercs sound pack I'll be sure to make a flashable to add the old sounds back in however.

I know,:p the only reason I mentioned it was because IF anyone want's them, THEN, all you need is to flash any of them. :) And the pac's have much more than JB or ICS, He has Mario and Zelda:D
