Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

48 hrs now, no probs. All systems go here!!

Edit: I like the battery icon in the green theme
but the rest of it burns my eyes!! Very cool
though, and good job on it. Any way I can that battery
icon ? Prolly not.

Edit: I meant I like the icon shape and stats inside.
Neon green is kinda loud for me.

don't like your for explorer

It's actually a little buggy once in a while, I might go back to es file explorer at some point, I found that this one needs to be opened once and navigated to the internal files then a reboot seems to get it all working properly, I still do see an occasional force close though

try rom toolbox it has a great selection of icons for most of your icons jus be carful with boot animation and any cpu changes unless you know what your doin

Okay.. I'm having trouble with the notification toggle brightness... & then I have to reboot to get Wi-Fi on & off...

You are keeping me on my toes today lol

Reboot, two times give it five minutes after it boots before you do anything after it loads up...

You can wipe cache and dalvik and try a trusty old fix permissions too

In green or white?

This is still on my list

Right on good luck. I had the same issue on unitology at one point but it had fixed itself when i flashed somethin but i know fix perms wont help i tried. Could it be a video driver line thats missing to play certain formats maybe

Also possible ota on the next version?
And titanium as a system apk. Wait if you make titanium a system apk will i keep pro or do i reinstal over it how would that work.

next version LOL... that will be a WHILE unless something really sweet comes out and I have to incorporate it in my ROM immediately and rethink my life :)

Honestly you guys have become a bit spoiled by my ROM being updated so much... but like bloodawn said about 10 times about his CT Mod for the Prevail, that's about all I can think of adding to the ROM so it might be the last version... but then a sweet new release would come out again a few weeks later... just depends on what comes up or if I have some epiphany in my sleep LOL

There are a couple things I am interested in, we have a hidden menu in the settings apk that allows usb tethering and it works at the moment. There is already a thread on it and a settings apk with it enabled. Another neat thing is the onandroid backup that is incorporated in V, it sounds like someone is working on a front end for it, the functionality is there but you have to use terminal emulater at the moment to use it.

Other than that, I am interested in slimming the ROM down some more and always looking for ways to improve things... I have a few little nagging issues to give some attention too...

at least at the moment it's more likely that I would put out an update than a real release unless something earth shattering happens.

OK first rom so I have butterfly stomach :), I'm all nervous.

Quick question. As of right now I don't gave access to a pc at all so I wanna make sure anything I do can be undone without a PC as well.

I noticed it said custom boot animation. So that means the boost logo at boot had been replaced with the custom one. If I am correct in that, then if I for whatever reason want to go back to stock using the zip file I have on my SD card, can I do that and it replace the factory boot animation to stock again?

I for some reason understood the animation was rather messy our could be and was like a different process than just rooting. If do I'll give noob rom a go.
I'll await a reply before I delve into this rom thing just yet.

I'm in no way doubting your work mrbobo so I hope this question isn't an insult to you, I just don't want to make a mistake I can't get out of, especially not having access to a PC right now.

No problem at all:

Flashing this ROM will replace everything except the green android that happens right at first when you boot your phone (if you already rooted and installed cwm using the easy root then it will also replace the green android).

Getting back to stock is very simple if you end up not liking the ROM, simply download the stock rom from here: stock_b08c_rom-signed.zip place on your sd card and flash back to stock from recovery the same way you flashed to n00b ROM.

Boot animations are easy and part of any ROM so that will also be put back to stock if you flash the stock rom above... the ONLY thing that would stay from this ROM would be the splash screen, and that's only if you rooted before installing my ROM, I have a zip in post three you could flash though that would also bring that back to stock... so the long and short of it is this is really a very simple process now, it didn't use to be until just a week ago but now it's very simple and fairly foolproof.

Dive in and don't be shy with critiques suggestions cheers or jeers!

Well if this is the last im still happy with it and awsome job man
And is there a manual fix for sticky brightness toggle

I don't know what causes that, it might just be that the settings apk gets caught in loopysmoothness or the cache every so often... not really sure, I have seen it at least once but a reboot fixed it for me...

here was my advice to someone else

I only ported the notification toggles, I didn't write the code so it's a bit hard to troubleshoot, I have seen this issue come up on all the roms that have this feature...

one trick that might not be known about the toggles, if you long press on any one of them, it opens the settings menu to that toggle's area and you can check the boxes for them... that might be a good workaround until whatever gets cleared out of the way and they start working again...

I gotta say very nice job mrbobo.
so far it has some pretty cool affects, I especially love the flashing android at boot, that is well.....awesome!!!!

I'll play around with it the next few days and let you know if I found anything.

So far the only major issue I can spot is the laggy typing, I'm getting a REALLY laggy delay when typing anything. Any ideas?

Other than that I habnt noticed anything. I'll have to install some apps to see how it all reacts.

Great job though.
