Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] n00b (B10 based) VIII.II FULL Install 1/23/2013

It looks like I have to go back to n00b_IV with the V update because the V final is causing my check boxes to not work. GPS and keyboard. Will the green theme still work on V update whitefiretiger?

Thats to bad man, not saying theres anything wrong with IV and the update, i had the same problem but ran fix permissions and it corrected it for me ;)

hey guys, just one thought on some of the issues we are seeing with things not sticking etc, please take a moment to go all the way to a clean install, that means backup your sd card to your pc, then format it, then do a full install from my zip.

Then without adding anything, boot it, let it run for a few minutes, then reboot it and let it run for a few minutes.

Now try all the toggles etc with a clean install.

There are just too many possibilities out there of things that could be effecting the ROM for me to troubleshoot. I have a lot of people running it with no issues or who might see something one time and then reboot and it goes away. My experiance with this ROM is it's extremely stable and everything works, I have tested coming from stock with no root and coming from a rooted stock and coming from other ROMs with basically the same experience. I have had only one or two cases of a stuck menu item, but a reboot seems to make everything back to how it should be as far as toggles working etc.

If you are willing to work with me and try the clean install including the sd card being formatted, then we can start to figure out what's causing the issues.

By clean install I mean no partitions on the sd card, a freshly formatted sd card with nothing on it except the freshly downloaded zip of the ROM.

If you are thinking you have to go back to n00b IV because of issues, please first try this method to make sure it's not something left over from a previous install etc on your sd card causing the issues.

I had some really nasty issues for a while then realized it was because I had unzipped a full ROM on my sd card and android was using those files sometimes and causing all sorts of bizzarre issues.

the rom install zip sets the proper permissions and symlinks for this ROM, I know because I wrote it by hand and took a lot of time to make sure it was right.

Lol I made that mistake too. Really made the audio flip out

Did you reflash the from? That usually helps me.

Yup it was fresh. My phone has always had toggle wish. Its not anything the ROM has done per se just the way my phone handles unit.d tweaks.

Damn you auto correct! Lol Was supposed to say "ish" instead of wish and init.d instead of unit. I reflashed V again to no avail, however, when I get the time I'm gonna go thru each tweak to see what's causing my issue. Thanks for the suggestions everybody

Just PERFECT !!!
I wipe to factory, dalvik and cache, didn't format sdcard, then flashed n00b V, restored my apps with TB, must say that EVERYTHING is running ok, 0 issues, very fast, very stable.

Thank you very very much MrBobo for this perfect rom.

Alright, so I kept getting the "E:Can't Mount SD" so I tried many things like using a different SD, reformating, etc, but what helped was I went to Recovery, then Advanced, Partition SD Card. Choose 128M than 0M. Then add in the ROM to your SD card and it should be working!

I did as you suggested and your correct, it fixed everything ( Not really any big issues) but it does run alot faster and smooth... thank you sir for all the hard work you did on this ROM.....:D;)

How do you turn off background data.. it won't turn ofg

3g won't turn off? Long press on the toggle and it will bring up that menu in the settings, switch it off there... if it won't work reboot, not sure why that would happen.

Installed today (Clean install, Wiped SD) so far no Issues and I love it. This rom is AWESOME!!!. Look forward to tweaks and updates especially OC. Can wait to see OC and SWAP together....I know you guys have been working hard on that:D thanks again for everyones hard work and dedication.:D:D:D:D:D

hey yall, update coming soon, just worked on windows phone 7 with chev and he has a new (IMHO better) port of the notification menu toggles, I will bring it to n00b as just an update zip... themers head's up this will require an update to your themes as it involves the systemui and framework-res, this also may make UOT play nicer with the ROM again and make the toggles more stable.

If you haven't checked out the windows phone 7 ROM in a while, it's ROCKIN right now, just released today!

Not that I want anyone to leave n00b, it's a different style, but very nice and I had a part in it (small but a part) :)

I checked it out but ill be stickin with noob and waitin for the update. If i make a new nandroid will it overwrite the old

@Mrbobo
I now have n00b V up and running with zero bugs! To the dismay of my better half I decided I'd had enough not being able to run your Rom to its fullest so I spent most of today figuring out what my issue is. I started a thread for the fix but thought I should update your thread as well. After cross referencing every init.d tweak and build.prop on every Rom I've ever run I found the culprit to be LoopySmoothness. So now I can run everything and just extract that file prior to installation. I didn't want to give up on you and this Rom and felt I owe it to the warp devs to figure this out. :D
