Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Xfinity Rom Beta V1.5

I'm noticing a growing number of folks saying that... would it help if we started making OC and non OC versions of our ROMs? Or at least provided a flashable stock kernel to overwrite the OC one?

That might be a good idea, I only know of a few people who have trouble with OC on their phones. Mr. Bobo and Krowbar, plus mine. I'm sure their are others, and I think their's a kernal in development that may work across all platforms. I read that somewhere on the board. ;) An OC kernal that is.

Yes, I do remember someone (downthemachine, I think) say that "great things" were around the corner. A fully functional OC + swap kernel would be awesome :-)

Bit, does your phone freeze even when running an OC kernel at stock speed? Just curious.

I posted the new version without setcpu and i have also posted a non over clocked version but when dropbox made the link it used a word thats not allowed on this forum so when you click the link it says not valid not sure what to do

Try using a URL shortening service. Google should be able to point you in the direction of a good one.

Nice looking ROM... not to nitpick, but you might want to give credit to the right dev for the oc kernel. Last I checked that was shins work.

Really? If its shins kernel i'll definetly change it, but where i got the kernel from gave credit to Hroark13

Well done mtb3000gt! Earning some cred and it's not your fault for not knowing exactly who to credit for their work. Our good ol Warp has been a Frankenstein of sorts and all the devs have had a hand in each others roms one way or another due to zte never putting out a solid source code. Keep it up because you have some great talent! ;)

I havent been able really to keep the phone running long enough to get setcpu or no frills pulled up to underclock without a freeze up!!! Its almost instant. I flashed the kernal only, and flashed Leviathon with the same results. Had a heck of a time getting it back to noobV because I deleted the file from my sd card. Took a long time to get a file transfer from my laptop back on it. So now i'm real gun shy about both of these kernals out their on different roms. Their both unstable.

Lemme guess...leviathan? Shinru dev'd our oc kernel.

Not true.. the oc kernel that goes to 1600 is hroarks kernel.. shins goes to 1700. Shin built his off hroaks kernel " I believe" or at least his coding.. I'll also add hroaks kernel seems to be more stable for some reason..

I've been running hroaks kernel on my Rom and haven't had any problems and it's been pretty stable so far

if I need to change the credit for the kernel I definitely will,, can't hurt to give them both credit shin and hroak both make great kernels and Roms

Since the Shin's 1.7GHz kernel defaults to 1GHz out-of-the-box, try flashing it and seeing if it boots. That way you don't have to worry about trying to hurry and get to the underclock, since you'll already be running at stock speed from the get-go.

Nice job.

The thread i got my 1.6 oc kernel from said shin made it but id just credit both as they were working close on the project.

Silly question but how do you change the title at the top of the page,,right now mine says Xfinity Rom Beta V1.0 and i would like to change it

I got bored and did a little theming, i changed the signal bars the wifi signal and the system icons defiantly more coming soon

@mtb3000gt

I wanted to try your Rom out but it wouldn't boot up/ stuck on the OC boot screen for like 4 minutes.

I did the following:

1.Wipe Data
2.Cleared Cache
3.Cleared Dalvik

Is there something I didn't do for this Rom to Install, Like set Permissions or Mount System?

Running WP7 4.1 Rom
And also is there a thread that covers which Rom's can handle OC Kernel's and which ones can't?

Have you tried the non oc release i have heard that some people have issues with the oc kernels boothing up,,,if the other version boots then i will pull the oc kernel from the 1.5 version and upload a non oc version with swap support,,let me no how it goes and i will get the non oc version up for tomorrow. i can also try a different oc kernel that i am about to flash now and see how that works
