Root [Boost Mobile] Security Features

Can someone tell me the advantages or fixes of B08c ? or that "update" was only to get an "stronger security system" ?

did you just flash the zip and that was it ?

Yes I flashed the zip in CWM, then rebooted and immediately got the wifi "error" the only mods to my stock b08c are the build.prop tweaks on this forum.l
 
I posted that I flashed the zip, rebooted, then back to cwm, made backup, wiped data, then restore. Everything is OK except the WiFi driver
 
I wonder.. is this something that can be incorporated into future roms that we build without asking the user to install it as a prerequisite? It seems as though every rom we built (through nandroid) doesn't allow data restoration, but cm7 does (because you see the custom apps that made it through the boot process without getting deleted such as the "torch" app which isn't stock), which makes me think if it can make it through the boot process without that patch, can we not do the same on the nandroids/roms we make?
 
Yepp wifi broke for me too. I'm on b08b (not the latest update). I just went into recovery and applied update as zip.. D: looks like its not just for the b08c users

edit: I hope this is undoable :S
 
It's something with the backup of /data, like it breaks a symlink or something like that
 
so i see everyone is having that issue .
i just put it in my sd card.
i guess ill have to wait till they fix the wifi . i hate not having wifi .-.

I think it may be that the installer script screwed up permission

sorry guys

can any of you that have a back up do an advanced restore and restore system

if any of you do not have a backup, let me know and I will try to help you

I will be doing some testing and post back in a bit
 
Weird. I just edited the ext4check.sh file manually and wifi is fine on my phone. I am still on B08 though.
