Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

maybe i am wrong, but i feel like we deserve a little love. Add our baseband to the script.

I think that it was not slimkat that i noticed did not have that assert. I was in able to download to the phone and flash it. Just like god intended.

amen to that bro!!! :d

Well, it seems that d2spr ROMs are moving towards unified builds. One file for all carriers. This will eliminate much of this assert stuff. Philz next recovery will support these changes more fully.

The designation for these builds is d2lte. You may have to flash your own kernel that is specific to your device.

I recently installed a unified build for Dirty Unicorns. It messed up my radios but installed. I flashed it clean but some recommend dirty flashing it over Omnirom. I think I will wait a while before trying it again.

We will start to see more of these unified d2lte builds. Maybe our lives will soon get a little easier.

Saw that as well, but pretty sure they still aren't including d2vmu in the device checks.

I may be wrong, but I think that the unified d2lte builds won't do a device check the same way it is done now. But, maybe not.

I've opened up the ones that are already available like LiquidSmooth and they do have a device check, just no bootloader check. I would assume this is to prevent the international variants from flashing.

Darn it! But, you know think that my phone gets the status 7 on the bootloader check. Is Boost reporting as d2spr?

I just installed the rom that was unrooted and it has the ota nag. I used an apk file called fotakill but it's not workin and I don't see an app in the app drawer to do anything with.

So any ideas how to stop the ota?

What ROM? STOCK 4.1.2 TW based? Unrooted? Getting nags for 4.3 OTA update? I know that Both MOAR and Wicked Sensations had zips to fix that.

I suggest the best fix is to flash a TW 4.3 ROM or even better AOSP KitKat.

File says md7_stock_unrooted_boost but I'm not sure where I got it.

As for using moar and 4.3 I've used those and they have small glitches here and there ie: sound quality is hard to hear the other side a lot of times, in moar 8.0 the battery stats part is kinda wonky. That's what led me to this rom for now. Eventually I will get to carbon tough, but for now I need to just disable the ota
This rom is 4.1.2. To my understanding 4.3 roms won't give the nag.

I was running MOAR 4.1.2 when I fought with the nag problem. I remember trying a lot of stuff that didn't work and then someone posted a zip that fixed it.

I want to say that there was a nag fix for a stock 4.1.2 ROM. But it would have been rooted. I don't remember the details because I never installed it.

If you install a 4.3 ROM you won't get the nag since that is what the nag is about. Maybe you can find a stock 4.3 that you like.

Yeah. Haven't yet found a stock 4.3 rom yet. As I understand it it's 4.3 that causes the issues with the sound quality on phone calls.
On another note though, I think I found the fix, and fotakill does work. It has to be in the system/app folder and I did a normal install which placed it in data/app. I moved to system/app and rebooted and have not got a nag yet, so we'll see how it works.

Decimalman is working on sound quality/phone issues right now for his latest version of dkp for 4.3 TW, just FYI. Has had some people testing several builds, looks like progress is being made.

I haven't noticed any problems with sound on moar8. I just wish they had in-call booster, you can use the sound levels on install and every tweak out there but it doesn't work with in call, The prevail was the same way too and on cm7 you could boost the in-call vol. Can the cyano roms here do that?

May have something to do with using the 100% sound volume modification in moar. Sounds like you don't because in call was extremely loud for me in the in calls. Perhaps the volume hack/mod is making things to loud, kinda sounds that way, and that's why I'm always asking them to repeat things, like it's distorted.

That sounds about right. If you turn up too high it will get distorted, like with a car speaker, too much power distorts and when get a better speaker then it becomes louder and sounds better. The speaker only sounds as good as it is made to sound.

I think you can go back to the aroma installer for MOAR and change the volume hack without having to do a clean install

i was reading about sound problem on xda they pointed to a driver problem. i agree with the power factor also that was my experience. sound problems are on other 4.3 roms. and moar on 4.1 didnt have the problem. a new dkp kernal is on the way to address the drivers. struckn spoke of this kernal

UPDATE

Wifi Tether Router by Fabio Grasso on play store will fix the hotspot for the Carbon and CM11 ROMs

It cost right at $2 but we'll worth the price. I have personally tested the app with both ROMs and it most definitely works. All you do to set the app up is tap connect. The app will walk you through the set up. It's easy fellas. A special thanks to Struckn for letting me know about the app.

Anyone try that Dalvik patch on XDA yet? Was thinking of flashing it...

Been running it for a month or so now, it is awesome! Have to reflash every time you flash a new ROM or dirty flash a nightly just FYI. Make sure to run a before and after benchmark to get a sense of the improvement from a numbers standpoint.

I'm running it. Got the link out of Struckn's CM11 thread. Seems to be working fine. I've ran it on both CM11 and Carbon.

I did not use the bionic zip. Has anyone tried it?
