Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

I'm running the 2/18 build of Carbon along with the newest AOSP DKP kernel from Decimalman. I'm also running the Dalvik patch: Qualcomm-optimized Dalvik library, Xposed Framework, XBlst tools and a plethora of other goodies. This phone is running like a top!! :)

For those of you who don't know, do not try the 2/19 Carbon Nightly. Two people have reported issues.

I'm on moar8.0 since it came out and have no problems with any of call or any sounds at all except I wish I could turn up the in-call vol, but is all clear. I actually have the extreme vol and have the media, ring and notifications turned down a little because they are too loud, but it won't raise in-call vol. I'm also running mk3 modem if that makes any difference.

The problem for me was the outgoing sound not the incoming. I was constantly having to repeat myself. I think it has something to do with wide-band calls but I gave up on it before I could pin point it for sure since my job requires a working phone.

I noticed when installing some roms, there ends up being a folder called 0, it eats almost 2gb of space and deleting it doesn't hurt things at all, as far as I can tell anyways.
So what exactly is that folder and what causes it to be there?

That's something we're gonna have to get used to. All the new builds do that. It's under emulated /legacy and 0. In my opinion they really screwed up way the file system is built this time.

As for why the file system is set up that way now, you got me bro.

Your right too. The legacy and 0 folders look identical.

Ok. I guess for now until someone finds a fix, it's just an annoyance. I'll just have to delete the files/folders for now. Gonna kinda suck though if someone has very little space left for whatever reason, because from what I can tell it's a like mirror image off stuff. You have 10gb of stuff, wonder what happens then.

Check it out. I actually wrote something about the extra folders awhile back and that you could delete it to get the extra space.

Beanstalk is nice. It has so many features that I have not seen in other ROMs. And it is a great looking ROM. I had a backup of the last version, so I dirty flashed.

Well, I originally flashed Wicked Sensations, then flashed Carbon, ran it for a few hours and It ran like a champ! I then decided to flash the newest version of Beanstalk. So far, so good. I just got my apps from Titanium restored and am getting ready to give Beanstalk a test run. :D

To me, Beanstalk would be a pretty ROM to put on the phones of the women in your life. But not until you are sure the bugs are fixed. Lol.

Anyone using a 4.4.2 ROM with Xposed Framework. I recommend these 2 modules.

One of them is only if you are using the Google Now Launcher. Adds some good. Stuff.

The other allows you to customize your Complete Using Prompt.

ok so does anyone know if we will be getting TW Kit Kat. the note 3 and the s4 already have it from what i understand. only asking because i just watched a side by side video of JB vs KK on the g2 and the speed is significantly faster with the KK file system. im not a fan of vanilla android. even tho the aosp roms we have are not necessarily vanilla with all the mods. just curious.:D

The SGS3 has been confirmed for "official" KitKat complete with whatever newest TW crap Samsung decides to bog the phone down with (I am obviously not a fan of TW!), but it is up to the carriers if they are going to implement it or not. That probably means a "yes" across the board for the U.S. carriers.

Nice. It's a shame we won't be seeing it in the Boost lineup for some time to come. We haven't even got the S4 yet.

There is already a forum that has been created for this phone in the device section here at Android Forums . I just saw it listed a few days ago.

The initial buzz about the S5 seems to be mostly of disappointment. I, for one, am plenty happy with the S3. I hope it lasts me as long as my Prevail, which still works after 2 1/2 years.

Agreed on all points. The S5 seems underwhelming as far as I am concerned. Realistically, the S4 wasn't anything special compared to the S3 (I am loving mine and my girlfriend, while not rooted, loves hers too), and it looks like the S5 continues this trend. Plus, even though Knox is not the end of the world, the way Samsung implemented it means my S3 will be my first and only Samsung device. Unless something changes, LG and Sony currently look like the way to go.

I'm happy with my S3 too. I have a feeling this phone will be my primary for some time to come. It does everything I need it to do and then some. :D

I flashed it and it broke my WiFi. Reverting back to the previous kernel for now.

EDIT:
I went and read through the DKP kernel thread and Decimalman states that WiFi is not working on the new kernel. That's a deal breaker. DAMN!

He just updated that post again, issue has been fixed and a new working build is up and running. Going to download in a minute here.
