Root Boot loop, broken power button, can't get into recovery

I'm in bit of a trouble here....
My poorly executed attempt at installing ICS (quattrimus-VM670-aokp-beta2) onto my LG Optimus V has resulted in a state where the phone just loops at the Unicorn splash screen forever upon boot.

The problem is, I cannot enter recovery mode because my power button is broken. (I can boot the phone by inserting the charger, waiting for the LG logo, then unplugging the charger.)

Any suggestions for somehow getting access to my recovery mode, or restoring the phone?

Other info:
-I can enter emergency mode as that only requires me to press Volume Down and Back then inserting the USB cable.
-The recovery mode I had before this happened displayed "ra thunderc 1.1.0 gnm"

A little more info:
-I have not performed factory reset.
-For all I know, I could probably get into Recovery mode if the power button was not broken.

What I'm looking for:
-A way to get into recovery mode via adb or anything. Maybe via emergency mode, since I cannot get the phone to boot all the way.

Piece of cake!
You will need the LG Optimus V USB drivers on your PC found here: http://www.lg-phones.org/wp-content/uploads/LG-Optimus-V.zip
The Android SDK on you PC with the path to the adb.exe set in your system path. Go here for everything you need to accomplish it: New pre-packaged ADB installation If you don't get the proper output after typing in "adb devices" then go to the link just below that step.

You are rooted. So the rest is easy.
Put the Xionia recovery in a zip form on the SD card(this is the only time you will leave it zipped). It can be found here: Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

On the PC with the Phone connected, open up a command prompt (terminal).
Type in this:
cd..
cd..
cd SDK/platform-tools
adb shell
su (only if you didn't get a # symbol after adb shell, if you did skip this)
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /system /system
reboot recovery

If after you are in your recovery you can't seem to get out of it, install the zipped Xionia recovery that you put on the SD card (no need to wipe anything)
Go to advanced section. Select reboot recovery. You should now be in the Xionia recovery.
Go to the advanced section and select the fix recovery loop option.
If you need any more help just holler.

It worked! Thank you!

I was under the misguided notion that for adb to work, I had to be in a fully booted state. It recognized the device and took commands even when the phone screen was looping the splash screen.

I got back into the recovery menu that I already had in there, and was able to restore the nand. After that, a reboot simply put me back into where I was initially before I got into the ICS update.

Now I'm wondering what I did wrong when I tried to flash the Quattrimus ICS beta 2 AOKP rom. (I just downloaded the zip, put it on SD, went to recovery mode, flashed the zip, rebooted).

Could be a bad zip file- how did you get it onto the SD card? I've seen several people have issues when they try to download a ROM directly to the phone via a browser app- I always have downloaded on a PC & then copied to the SD card via a card reader & never had a bad flash. :)

EDIT: I see you say you downloaded & copied to SD card, so maybe nevermind my advice...

EDIT 2: I don't see any mention of doing a reset/wipe of data, system & cache before flashing the new ROM- that could also be your issue if that's the case...

If you read my post I linked you to, you will see a tutorial on everything you need to do to install a flash_image, recovery, and ROM. This should answer any questions you might have on "What you did wrong".
The post just took shape in the aforementioned thread. I could have started a new thread, but the thread my tutorial took shape in was a reminder for new members what not to do. So I left it right where it is.

What does this command do? mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /system /system
If I am already booting to recovery, I can just skip the adb steps and go straight to the Xonia_Recovery right? Are those adb steps necessary for my situation?
