I hope this comes true.
Someone just posted that the keys are not legit over on DF.
from the Sholes signing key leak explained web page

The keys can be cracked using Mathematica. Read up on how the Elgamal signature scheme works.
TL;DR: k = s - sha1sum(data)

Above formula will yield signing keys on vulnerable phones due to motorola botching their signing keys.

I also saw that people are claiming that they do not work on the milestone either. And that it was a complete fabrication. It remains to be seen. I recommend following freemymoto

Well it looks like nenolod got this to work on his milestone not on a DroidX. It also looks like each Motorola device has a different key though the method used may still work. It is being said that many DroidX devs are working on this but I am not going to get my hopes up just yet. This better not be a hoax :(.

something got out that wasn't supposed to and it made Moto mad. From my understanding, the method used to find the Sholes key can be utilized on the Droid X/2. @FreeMyMoto and P3Droid are all over this. If something is there it will be found.

I just got keys puked out via @nenolod's method. Might try a sign tomorrow

Million dollar security system, 99 cent password.

Million Dollar security system, and the password was password

lol! This made me laugh!

If Motorola took legal action then something came out that they didn't want to be leaked.

They did the same thing when the first root and sbf came out. Their threats didn't last. The sbf file went viral on the internet.

This.

They made them remove the keys from his web site so they must be something.

Exactly. There's something real happening here. I saw the keys posted on the internet in tweets. They're out there for the entire world to see, now.

i was just about to post that. Here's some more

too funny

@clockworkmod said it all. I see nothing resembling a private key like the one @nenolod posted.

1) Sorry guys, I gotta merge these threads

2) I believe we ought to show respect to the former DX devs and welcome them back. After all, Stephen and others spent literally hundreds of hours on this project, if not more. Without these guys, the work we now have wouldn't have happened as it is built on top of their work, to some extent.

Interesting tweet:

@FreeMyMoto
Judging by Motorola's legal response already, it's real. :)

^Me too! Im sick of being locked down. I just posted my D2 for sale today! Hopefully I will be able to take it offline and flash new roms.

So my D2 is still a lost hope or what?

no, the method used can be used on all Motorola devices on the OMPA chipset. Droid, Droid 2, Droid X, Droid Pro. If this turns out to be the real deal(which I think it is) The Bootloaders will fall like Dominoes.

Yea, now we're talking.
I might need to take my D2 offline and keep it!
