Bricked!!

i tried that and to no avail. notta. im afraid its toast. i have a buddy that is going to let me borrow his old Pixi until I can save up to get the Evo.

Its a sad, sad day. I loved my Hero :(

The song by Shadows Fall comes to mind...

Another Hero Lost

I'll never leave you
but Fate has come to silence me
darkness is all that I see
I cannot reach you
And soon the earth will cover me
its become so hard to breathe

Forever...is waiting
The final steps your taking
Will soon be buried in the sand

And all of the battles
They say we won
They leave another thousand lives undone
Another thousand lives

Forever...is waiting
The final steps your taking
Will soon be buried in the sand

Your gone but not forgot
Another Hero lost
The sorrow builds with every passing
All the lessons that you taught
When all would light you brought
It is all in the eyes of your son

Forever...is waiting
The final steps your taking
Will soon be buried in the sand

Your gone but not forgot
Another Hero lost
The sorrow builds with every passing
All the lessons that you taught
When all would light you brought
It is all in the eyes of your son

What OS in on your PC, try to find another PC with XP to see what happens.

Im running Vista right now on my laptop, I do have an older desktop that has XP. I'll give that a try and see if it will recognize the phone.

BTW...Thank you for ALL your help. Ive only been using this Palm Pixi for a day now and I cant tell you how much I miss my Hero and Android in general.:(

Im going to have to work a little OT and go get the Evo :)

Just tried it several times on a different pc with 2 different cables...nothing. Same results. This is getting pretty depressing.

Downloading now. Ill give it a shot, but my computer doesnt recognize the phone so i dont see how it will work.

That didnt either :( my pc is starting to recognize that something is connected but just shows "unknown device" Im going to try taking it to the store and see if they can do anything. Wish me luck ;)

Did you ever intall HTC Sync on your computer? It sounds like you may not have the drivers for the phone installed for the computer to recognize it..

Yes I have htc sync. I even tried reinstalling it to make sure I had the latest version.

I dont want to come off like a @$$h0le, I really appreciate everyones help, but I'm not exactly a noob at this. Ive been rooted and flashing roms for a while now.

From my perspective, it looks like somehow when I tried to flash the latest AOSP GB rom it froze and I had to pull the battery and now there is "nothing under the hood" The way everything is acting it really just seems like there is nothing in there for my pc to communicate with, recovery mode and everything is just plain gone. I dont know, thats just what it seems like to me.

We know you are frustrated. We are all scratching our collective heads trying to figure this out for you.

Is there a way to access the sd card through the computer and load your RUU onto the root of the sd card so the phone can read it? Kind of like a boot disk to a formatted computer. I read on a different post somewhere, cannot remember where, but a dev was taking to a person with this problem and he talked about placing a .zip or done file on the root of the sd with the computer and then placing sd card back in phone and then powering on.

No the computer can not read the sd card through the phone. All it does is pop up that there is an unknown device, it knows something is plugged in but thats it. its like a "ghost" drive.

I stopped in to the nearest Sprint store today but found out that they are not a service/repair center. The kid behind the counter was clueless to what I was talking about. Im going to try to get to the other store tomorrow. Hopefully they can flash it back to stock and I can pretend that none of this ever happened;)

With your phone rooted they will not touch your phone, I went back to the beginning of this thread and read your post again, tell us how you rooted your phone, then tell us which recovery you flashed.

I wasn't planning on telling them it was rooted ;)

I rooted with z4root a few months ago and have made the rounds through AOSP, Cyanogen, Liquidsense, etc.

the last thing I did was flash the new clockwork recovery image(the one that changed the text from green to orange) with rom manager and then tried to flash the latest aosp GB rom (as of 01/17)

Doesn't matter if you tell them they will know, so if you cannot Nandroid back to an old back up ?
