Root Bugless Beast Rom Version 1.0 is Out!

Just thought I would mention that Pete's 1300 didn't work for me. Didn't even reboot, just stuck on M.
1200 is UNREAL - went to 10.3 mflops and is noticeably faster than his 1000.
Now I have to read about the SetCPU debaucle and hopefully try it.
I like my Droid at 800 when it's on the charger/car dock - very important for heat.

Enjoy!

edit - I can't stress how fast this is - even with helix 2! This is by far Pete's best! The new Nextheme font is hot too.

I've already asked this but didn't get an answer. If I use the same smoked glass round battery .zip that I used with .9 is it going to cause any problems?

It is the one in this picture:

EDIT: Well I tried it after making a nandroid. It works just fine but I mostly wanted to know if I am somehow compromising the speed of the ROM by using a piece from the old frameset.

Alright, looks like I'll have to give it another shot. Glad to see 1.2Ghz kernel now. Don't know if my issue was with NexTheme or what, but hopefully no repeat! Wish me luck.

Question: Why shouldn't we use a diff kernel? I've loved using AdamZ's 1.2GHz kernel. I saw Pete said not to, but was that more a permissions thing?
You will lose out on quite a few mod's Pete put into his kernel, that's why his ROM is fast.

I'm having a helluva time trying to get one of these kernels to take. The only kernel I've gotten to work stably is the stock 600MHz. 1.2 would load, but after opening an app would reboot. 1.1GHz wouldn't get past the M. 1GHz and 800MHz would respond like 1.2GHz. I had installed AdamZ's LV 1.2GHz and it was perfect (and w/ this ROM, it's amazing how fast and smooth). But b/c I was having an issue w/ my Home soft key not working, I tried going back to the Bekit. However, it wasn't working regardless, even w/ that kernel. Soooo....

Not sure why your having trouble....maybe try formatting the boot partition before you flash a new kernel?

Ah, why didn't I think of that. How do ya do that? lol Man, everytime I'm thinking I got a hang of this thing, you guys throw out something new. lol

You probably could fix any issue in that regard by running the zipalign_apks script, but because it's the framework that may need to be zipaligned, make sure you do it in recovery using adb, and not from the Terminal Emulator.

If you have Clockwork recovery, just boot into recovery, go to the partitions menu and select "format boot." I'd do it at least twice, then reboot. I wiped data/cache, system and boot 3 times before I flashed Pete's new ROM and wiped boot twice before installing the new kernel.

Yeah, I just found out to wipe 3x before flashing, and that seems to have done the trick. Do you think this would affect the kernel? I'm afraid to do anything now that it's the way it should be. lol

To format the boot partition you go into ROM Manager and in the partition menu there is a option to format boot. You could also do it via ADB with the format BOOT: command if you prefer.

But you can just install the zip for the kernel again before you reboot, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for all the help guys (and gals ). I just went w/ the AdamZ kernel and I think being at 1.2GHz is compensating for any optimization I may be missing. Now that everything is working the way it should, it's a thing of beauty. Fastest and most smooth ROM yet. And now I don't need to carry the guilt of using UD! lol

anyone know what the sms email update is for? and how to install?
sorry, the search on the thread hasnt been so helpful and the thread is sooo long!!

Has anyone made custom wallpapers or boot animations with a Bugless Beast logo? Please share if you do, I Think it would be cool to have something like that for the new BB ROM.

hows the battery life with this ROM? I've been on 0.9 for the past few days and for some reason the battery is just getting drained in 6-8 hours or something. I was on droidmod before and it would last 24 hours+. my usage wasn't really anything different either.

I had the same problem, but now that I upgraded to 1.0 with a 1ghz kernel it seems to last as long as it did before I went to 0.9.

i always had good battery life (11 hours) on BB v .8 and v1.0. never tried v.9

anyone still know?

Well, I updated from the BB leak to BB 1.0, and now my Email app force closes whenever I try to open any email. Anyone else having this issue?

Kind of important, since I use my Email app to access my work email...
