Help Camera shutter sound?

No you cannot turn it off sadly, its like a law that all phones has to have the shutter sound on at all times to make sure the person knows that your taking a picture of them.
If you do have root access download a file explorer from the market and navigate to system media audio ui and find cameraclick.oog i believe thats the name for it there should be 2 of them delete them both to turn off the shutter sound or rename them to turn it off too:)

Ahh ok, no wonder my last phone had the same problem. But on 2.2, and 2.3 (CM7). So i had to do the same thing, but the thing is i don't want to root my phone like my last one but it looks like i'll have to.

EDIT: If I root my phone will there be any way I can unroot it?

Yes you can unroot it. Just delete the superuser app and you're good to go :)

But I read on the other thread (with the guide on how to root) that someone was having problems trying to unroot it. I'm just worried that If I may have to return it I don't want to be stuck in the process of just trying to unroot it.

dont worry about unrooting it if you return/exchange it. they wont check. you cant even tell unless you really change things around.
