Can Android 2.1 work for the Eris

Every call center (help-less-desk) I've spoken too about anything tech related is, "make sure the computers plugged in" type of crap.

I find forums/enthusiasts to know alot more about the phone then anyone in a call center or found behind the desk at your local verizon store.

And I still say something's up... maybe a tester/teaser (Verizon employee) having some fun w/us? First thing I noticed in the video was the unlock screen was still the same (slide down to unlock), but the other 2.0/2.1 phones (Moto Droid and HTC Nexus One) I'm familiar with both have the slide right to unlock, slide left to silence (or ignore incoming call) standard.

Granted, the Eris has manual call buttons and maybe the update won't change this screen, but it just is suspicious to me... I think the unlock screen will change. So maybe this is, like others have suspected, a test version.

Droid + N1 don't have Sense. I think that Unlock screen is part of Sense. The others are running standalone Android 2.1 w/o Sense

Again, the Moto and N1 don't run Sense. That's the Sense lock screen.

He is a tester and he is having fun with us............but in a good way.:D

From all the videos I have seen of the Desire and Legend they both have the same lock screen as the Eris. So, either these are still early builds of Sense or the lock screen hasn't been updated.

My friends girlfriend just reported getting an option to update. I told her not to install at all costs. Personally I don't believe her and she only got her droid eris 2 days ago. I'm betting its one of the previous updates.

Edit: stupidity and grammar
