I wanna root so bad, but i waited for 2.2 I have the unoffic ial copy that htc released before the OTA.

no root for 2.2 yet. if you have a 2.1 you can run a 2.2 rom on a rooted 2.1

I just got my Evo yesterday and the clerks updated to 2.2 thinking they were helping me out. I had no idea 2.2 couldnt be rooted till I finally found this thread. Switching from the iPhone to Android, there is a huge difference in guides. Cut us new guys a little slack till we get caught up, eh?

Good Point, though the op didn't say when he got his so he was fair game hehe. That does suck but I wouldn't worry too much the guys over at XDA seem to be able to root stuff fast on the EVO. Thats the forum I would watch if I were you. They will post it there first.

I finally decided to root the other week. Was going to do it on Saturday. I guess Sprint was hip to my plans, because they sent the 2.2 OTA out on Friday.
And as the true noob I am. I updated.
Doooh!!!
I have the SDK and adb on my computer and it's working.
Just waiting on the root now.

Maybe instead of being a "dick" you could just answer the guy or close the tab in your browser.
Yeah there are LOTS of 2.2 root threads, but they all say NO for the first bazillion pages. And I doubt many will be updated to say YES when the 2.2 root is available.
Let me ask this... when 2.2 gets root access, and you post a new thread about it, can I tell you to search first and post on the end? Mooohahaha.
