can i root w/o computer

sure you can root without a computer. just google framaroot apk download, install and run the app. your rooted. now download mobile odin to flash a kernal to get custom recovery to make a nandroid kernal agats 0.6.8. no computer
 
There was also a processor specific exploit for this phone and software, which someone on xda then managed to create a tool that can help you patch the sploit, root the phone with said sploit, and a few other things.
 
I'm also thinking about trying Framaroot on my stock gs2 (sph d710BST) but do you know if theres an easy one click unroot app ? I read where someone was thinking about adding that type of app but not sure if they succeeded! Any help would be much appreciated...thank you!
 
Ok so I'm coming from the zte warp sequent. I've flashed roms on it before and had clockwork mod on it, so I'm familiar with that sort of thing. I used the framaroot root method and have root on my s2. Is there somewhere on here with an elaborate step by step method on how to basically get something like clockwork mod and be able to flash custom roms? Things sound a little different than what I'm use to with the warp sequent.

Just find a rom you like and follow the steps it has for installation. Just do it and you'll understand
 
So ever since the official jellybean update, the framaroot method doesn't work. I live in the sticks with no computer. Any other methods of rooting without a computer?

Did you get download the latest frama? It was recently updated and suppose to work for official jb
 
Yeah I actually caught that on xda, 1.1 they say was officially released but I can't find the apk anywhere. No links have been updated since early March and all I'm finding is version 1.0

I think I've got the updated version on my older s2, once I get home, I'll check and if I do I'll get it on my db
 
Right on. That'd be most appreciated cuz even with the official firmware update, I'm still catching my phone freezing up from time to time during basic functions like texting or just navigating the phone itself. Was gonna check out the custom roms and see if there's something to fix that.
