Help Can I turn off the network?

Hey everyone,

I am going to Canada for my sister-in-law's wedding this summer. My husband and I both have LG Ally's, and we were wondering if it is a possibility to turn off the Verizon network and run only on wifi while we're there. If so, will this save our data? We'd really like to be able to use our phones while we're there, but not if it means dealing with the extraordinary data charges for roaming. Thanks for any help you can give!

PS Sorry if this is posted somewhere else. I really tried searching the forums for this information and didn't find anything.

According to their website, it says "In the Canadian Broadband and Canadian Enhanced Services Rate and Coverage Areas, usage will be charged at a rate of $0.002 per KB or $2.05 per MB."

Ouch. Expensive. Settings should be under Settings>Wireless & Mobile Networks

It would be best to talk to Verizon Customer Services (but not people in a Verizon store) about this I would think.
