Root Can't Flash - "assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot")" error

yeah i had a backup from 1 day ago so im not worried about that. i just have to wait till i can finish work to get a new sdcard or see if i can try to format this thing and get it working.

formatting it may get it working again but if it has bad sectors its not really worth it. I would just consider replacing when you get off work.

do you think that has anything to do with this though:

assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot"

and boot fail-pu?

yeah if the SD card has a bad partition then it has difficulty reading and writing to the disk. The Partition tells the OS what kind of file system the CARD has and how much is there and how to gain read write access. Besides the Physical Structure of the CARD the Partition is the most vital thing on your CARD.

well, i just purchased a new 8gb sd card class 4. still the same problems unfortunately. i tried updating the ruu file through booloader, still tells me boot fail-pu and at the end says partition update fail. i also tried flashing the stock de-odexed rom. of course i do a full wipe before any of these attempts. however when i tried the stock, or any sense rom i still get the assert fail status 7 abort error message. its really frustrating that i cant load a sense rom!

yeah, no matter which update i try to use. the ruu or the sprint lovers all in one. everytime i put it in my root and load it up through bootloader, it gives me the same errors. boot fail-pu. partitions update fail. im beginning to think its a deeper issue than just a bad sd card.

sorry but i do not remember (and too lazy to go back and re-read posts.lol), did you try and run the exe file of the ruu on the computer? if so did you get the same error?

eh, my usb connection is broken on my phone, unless i can run it through my terminal emulator on my phone, i wouldnt be able to run it. in the end, i have an extra evo that my bro is borrowing, i should get that back in a month.

i actually have a really funny set up on my evo....2 batteries, one wall charger, i just change them out whenever one dies. not the most convenient, but it works.... i read up on it, these micro usbs are constantly going bad on the evos. pretty annoying.
