Root Cant Overclock

agy2k2

Lurker
Just rooted for the first time and running apex 1.4.1

Ive tried overclocking but no matter what program I use the phone lags so bad to the point that its almost frozen. Have to pull battery. Does this when I try to change the cpu settings, any change at all.

Tried Droid Overclock, Milestone Overclock, and SetCPU

Anyone know whats going on here?

just may be your x,,,,it varies from device to device whether they can be overclocked/undervolted,,,,,its odd ,,im in the same boat as you i have tried every setting from apps to settting my numbers manually and cant remain stable on any setting for any substantial period of time without lag or a reboot

I am having a similar issue. when I use the jrummy Overclock script that comes with Apex 1.4.1, I am able to set the parameters and i am able to run the battery down with what seemed to be a better rate. However, when I charge it overnight and take it off battery today, it is chewing through the battery. when i look at the battery stats, Android OS is at 40% and display is at 21%. Usually Android OS is running at 4% for me.

Reboot fixes it but not sure why it does that. I have even tried keeping the same MHz and just dropping vsels but same problem.

- What are you trying to overclock your X to?...the absolute highest i can overclock my phone to is 1.18ghz

- I would recommend trying out Quick Clock...One thing that is cool about that app is that is has a calibration setup that calculates the lowest voltages that your phone can run, and then automatically sets a safety buffer and allows you to overclock/undervolt rather easily

I got it to undervolt and overclock to 1.15ghz using DroidX Overclock. Anything over that and my phone would freeze.

When I calibrated with Qiuckclock it said I could safely run 1406mhz our something like that. What's the deal?

you can't...its only an estimate...you're gonna have to deal with it...your phone isn't an overclocker...mine maxes out at 1.18...anything more it locks up...

That's the speed when it finally crashed.

You have to take that with a grain of salt. Mine said the same thing yet here I am, running 1250 b/c 1300 crashes.
