Root Can't remove GMail account without data wipe, + I'm rooted

I'm trying to remove the Gmail account and add a new one, but its telling me some apps need the account and a data reset is required to remove it. I'm backed up and backed up everything with Titanium. Can I boot into recovery and wipe data only or will it brick? I'm running latest backside rom w/ green recovery. Help me get the account removed and updated. Thx.
 
All you need to do is backup your apps with either my backup root or titanium backup. Reboot into recovery wipe data, reboot into system, sign in with your new Google account, then restore your apps. There is no need to do a complete wipe and reflash.
 
Rigger is correct. The only down fall to that would be the loss of your contact list and paid apps (if you have any.) Before you do it, export your contacts to the sd card. That way you can restore them without needing to sync a Google account.
 
Will wiping the data only mean loss of apps and contacts, not settings on phone, playlists, etc?
 
It will be just like doing a factory reset on a stock phone. It will reset everything back to a blank, just like when you first flashed the ROM. Unfortunately, there is no other way to remove the primary Google account.
 
The best thing to do is to wipe and format everything needed for a fresh/new ROM install. Flash/install the ROM and Gaps. When you boot up into the ROM you will prompted to create an account or sign in to an existing account. Create a new account.
