Root Capt Throwback method issues.

I'm having an issue unzipping the flash_image.zip file.. winrar says "the archive is corrupt"

From the 2.18 htcdev unlocked state; can I use the taco root method or do I have to use the captthrowback method to get the 2.10 locked state?

I know both methods require flash_image.zip

I do believe you need to continue with the Capt method once you have done the htc dev method....
Taco root is a unlock/full root method in and of itself.
Are you on the Capt's site?
 
no, that unzipped just fine... just the amon_ra and the flash_image.zip wouldn't unzip, everything else stays zipped, right? just those 3 files get unzipped?

The amon ra PC36IMG file stays zipped, you only need to rename that file when instructed to. Be careful to rename it correctly or hboot will not see it, and it will fail to install. Also make sure that file is on the root, or, top level of the sd card--not in any folders....put it on there also when instructed to.:D
 
o.k..so when you download the .zip file for the recovery, and you try to extract the file, you get that error?
I would suggest downloading and using a program called 7-zip...I will try to find it for you but I found it online somewhere....let me find it for you k?

just so you know there are a couple of ways to get recovery:
1. the adb method which you extract the file
2. android flasher also you will need to extract the file
3. PC36IMG this you just rename the file.

either of these you can do.

and you should not need to use winrar to extarct the files. windows should be able to do it for you.

(bad)

I tried toggling signature verification

ok so you have recovery? did you extract the file or left it zipped? it could also be a bad download.
