Moved to the root forum for better support.

That's the only thing I found remotely close.

Don't quote me on this, but it shows tutorials on unlocking the boot loader and loading a custom recovery. I'd imagine the only thing left in rooting is flashing supersu.

I'd rather someone that's actually rooted boosts moto g confirm though.

Yes I just got the boost Mobile moto g and I love it but I need it rooted with a custom recovery is that possible with this phone... And of so how would I go about doing that.....

That looks pretty cool lol. I still haven't rooted this phone yet. Tryna get a feel for how it all works first. I think I like it.

I root for a lot of reasons. Overclocking, themes, custom ROMs, plus its fun to play with these cellular devices lol ppl can only play candy crush and Facebook for so long until things get boring

Very true, im a flash-a-holic at times lol. Flashed 5 different roms yesterday before I found one I'm moderately happy with :p

I've never been one to overclock though, just never seen the point in it. Then again every device I've owned was high end (LG G2 at the moment) and didn't feel the need to.

Ok I don't get this I m trying to unlock the boot loader on my boost mobile moto g so I got that 5 lined number and when I typed it in on the Motorola site so c if my phone was unlockable it kept say this device cannot be unlocked. I don't understand why it would say that Cuz I thought this phone could be unlocked. Is it possible that its no unlocking Cuz of the kitkat software I downloaded for it?

Shouldn't have anything to do with the Kitkat update, it's the phone itself that Boost has allowed Motorola to unlock the bootloader for. I would say that there was an error inputing the code on the Motorola website or something.

Here are a couple Youtube tutorials:
How to unlock the boot loader on your Motorola Device Moto X & Moto G - YouTube
Moto G root and CWM recovery install - YouTube

when in the cmd prompt u will b asked to type adb fastboot get_unlock_code
it will return a five line alphanumerical script all five lines will start w (bootloader) blah blah blah

copy the five lines and paste to notepad or wordpad

remove the (bootloader) from all five lines then make the five lines one long script withot any spaces even go back to the very first number or letter and make sure that u do not have any spaces b4 it

*borrowed from a post in a different form wccf tech* In order to unlock your Motorola Moto G, it will go smoother if you go to settings>About phone>Build number; when you get to build number tap it 7 times to enable developer options. For some reason even though I had USB Debugging enabled, the phone would not unlock. So, if you run into that issue try this little trick.
