So disappointed :( wanted to flash and set up tonight. Can't he just use a buttered toast release that works? Does it have to be the newest kernel?

He could I assume, but then you get other issues, so it is a trade off.

Since you want to flash and in a flashing mood, try King Kang from Mazda ;)

Haha yeah but I want to flash this one! :p just looked on xda and he said it's not a kernel issue. So that answers that I guess.

Damn where is the needle lol

Let me know what you think

Just flashed, couple things that irk me so far.

-no option to auto rotate home screen.
-no option to change battery icon to text or circle battery.

Otherwise its pretty decent so far. Need that home screen rotate to be able to pull not bar down due to faulty screen

He will have a new release either today or tomorrow, so he says, so that might be on the wish list, you can post there and see. ;)

Question : How long should I expect Paranoid Android splash screen to be there before it advances?
I'm going on 30 minutes and the android figure itself is still glowing different colors and blinking like it's loading.
It doesn't seem like it's frozen but it's taking a rather long time.

Background:

I was in HBoot 1.58, I quick flashed to recovery and flashed the ROM then flashed the zip to downgrade to HBoot. 1.50 then rebooted.
Now I'm at the scenario I explained above.

Thanks. I've started rooting this week so please upgrade this noob.

It definitely shouldn't take that long. I'll tell you something though with this rom. This has happened to me a few times, and not even after flashing. Sometimes just doing a normal restart of my phone, the rom just won't boot past the boot animation. Usually I just battery pull and turn my phone back on and it just boots right up. You already completed the flashing, so you shouldn't have to worry about pulling the battery. The danger in that is when it's in the flashing process because then it can't finish. Try battery pull and let us know if it boots up! :)

You got lucky then, a couple times I would just reboot and it would go into endless boot loops even after a battery pull :/

I never once had this issue, but I am on HBoot 1.4 so that might be why.

Pulled the battery a couple times, still won't get passed the PA splash screen.

Hmm. That's Unfortunate. Did you do a full wipe and format partitions before flashing? I would try flashing again. You already have the 1.5 hboot and stuff so get that file off your sd card and boot into recovery. Wipe data. Wipe cache and dalvik, format all partitions except sd card. Then try flashing again! Hopefully you will have better luck this time!

Yeah, I did all that the first time.
I'm in class right now so I'll have to wait til I get home since I still have HBoot zip on my sd card.
I'll erase it then go into recovery and try again.

Alright, I got home and removed the hboot zip then reflashed the ROM and it loaded up like a charm.
Thinking back, I may have forgot to format all partitions except SD card. May have ;)

Going to play with this now! I'll let you guys know what I think!

OK 10 slashes with a wet Noodle :p:D

I've played with it for an hour now... I know nothing about the programming side so I'll give you my two cents on the aesthetics of the layout instead.

-When you hold down the home button and all the active apps show up, I think the "kill all" button should be on the bottom left (not top left).
I tend to hold up my phone with my left hand and the bottom is just an easier kill.

-When editing the notification toggles, when the toggle layout is in button or Holo, I think it would look better if 5 or 6 icons took up the entire width of the screen.
It's currently the width of 5.5 icons and it leaves a space with five or cuts off the 6th icon, if used.
(I personally like the on/off option)

My two cents. This is all personal opinion. As far how smooth it runs and looks... I think this ROM is a thing of beauty.

Great job on it!
