Root [CDMA] I'm considering not rooting...

My rooted/CM7 Hero's 3G speeds were way faster than my new 3D, and while I like the interface of the 3D, if a new ROM can fix some of the problems we are having and not introduce a bunch more, then I'll be flashing a new ROM asap.

It will likely have to be a Sense-based ROM if you don't to sacrifice the usual stuff: GPS, 4G, HDMI, and now, anything related to the camera due to the 3D interface.

new roms wont be out for a while. you will have stock rooted rom to work with for a bit. remember that the evo was rooted well before launch day which gave cm time to build the aosp rom

coming from an aosp gingerbread hero has been odd---I was flashing 2-4 times a week (nightly in the fall), but now I only really want to delete some bloat and maybe a mild overclock. The shady thing is that we still cannot delete the bulk without root---the blockbuster apps and other bits of crapware that can be "deleted" are actually still there. I did the temp-root (fre3vo) and had adblocker and Ti---can't wait to go back!

If for nothing else, I will root just for AdBlock. Once done, Titanium Backup and Wireless Tether will be nice to have again. I suppose I could see myself exploring another ROM based on the stock ROM, but I really like how the phone is set up now.
