You do have the sprint version correct? Not the virgin mobile version?

Also, if you are on sprint, you're using the ruu I linked a few posts up and not still using the vm ruu right?

I tried the RUU_Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.13.652.2_Radio_1.06.00.0426_NV_1.53_144_release_262287_signed one and it gave me an "ERROR [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR" and then it put me back to the bootloader and it said my hboot is an older version, update failed.

D'oh. It looks like you have the virgin mobile evo v. :banghead:

Is your carrier virgin mobile?

If you are, there's no ruu available for you. Rather than ruu, you could use harmonia rom which many have had success with s-off.

If you're already stock you'd probably be okay too. I think you could still follow the steps I laid out minus running the ruu. Alternatively, you could follow this guide for evo v step by step:
http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/695161-s-off-root-fix-everything-all-in-one

I would just follow the evo v guide starting at step one. (which is basically flashing harmonia rom and then getting s-off with juopunutbear)

I know it works for your setup. If you follow every step it's pretty straight forward.

I need to get to bed but I'll check in in the morning and see how it's going or how it went.

I you need help with the wire trick timing, don't forget about the video.

Good luck!

I skipped the step that you had told me to skip and then I went to the Unlimited.IO website.. but I don't have linux and the links are not working on the forum.. :/

Links are working fine here. If you want to wait I can help more tomorrow. Really got to get to sleep now.

If you need the downloads from the unlimited site you can use a Ubuntu live cd to run the linux version.

You don't have to install it on your pc. It just boots into the memory temporarily for one session. Then it's gone.

Are there any MIUI, or Kit Kat roms out for this phone? Can I flash CDMA and GSM roms on to this phone too?
Glad you got it!

Here are a couple of miui versions:

Here's one kk rom I found:

Not sure if there are more.

You can't flash gsm roms, just cdma. You should be able to flash any sprint evo 3d rom though. On dome I them you may need to flash the mms fix and/or adjust apn settings.
