Root [CDMA] Rooting HTC EVO 3D, Having Issues

Hello,

Trying to root an Evo 3D. This is how far I've come. (CDMA) (HBOOT 1.5) (2.17.651.5)

Unrevoked does not offer a root.
Revolutionary does not offer a root.
Tried to use HTCdev - Received Token in Email - (Tried making the token at least 3 times)

Flashed the token into the 3D using bootloader.

No Disclaimer ever pops up. After further research, tried to flash the RUU to the same. It keeps telling me that either my battery is less than 30% (of course its not) or that I am using the wrong rom for my phone.

Pulling my hair out on this..

I fould that when you flash the token, you can 3 different messages:

C:\AndroidSDK\sdk-tools>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)... FAILED (remote: loading custom splash failed)
finished. total time: 0.010s
C:\AndroidSDK\sdk-tools>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)... OKAY [ 0.070s]
writing 'unlocktoken'... FAILED (remote: unlock token check failed)
finished. total time: 0.080s
C:\AndroidSDK\sdk-tools>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)... OKAY [ 0.150s]
writing 'unlocktoken'... OKAY [ 0.010s]
finished. total time: 0.160s

This will unfreeze the phone, as well as get rid of the progress bar on the right too.

Any ideas ? Thanks in Advance...

One thing that I've heard that helps in situations where you can't flash the unlock token is to run the newest ruu. Basically upgrade to ics and all the new firmware and then attempt the rooting process again. The only downside to this is that if you still can't obtain root, you would be stuck on ics whether you wanted it or not.
 
Are you sure you used the newest ruu? According to your first post you are on hboot 1.50.0000 and build number 2.17.651.5.

After running the latest RUU you should be on hboot 1.58.0000 and build 2.89.651.2.

Unless I'm missing something it sounds like you ran the GB ruu but not the ICS one?
 
Yep i'm def on hboot 1.58 & build 2.89.651.2. I think you might be thinking of another person on this thread. I didn't start this thread just responded as I had the same issue.

Oops you are right. I was assuming you were the op when I read your reply. Well maybe my advice will still work for him.

I will let you know if I can think of anything else. :/
 
Have you thought to give it another try on a different pc?

That was my problem little while ago trying to unlock.

Ps Brian, op was almost a year ago :p
