Root Changed Roms and Wow!!

Barats

BIG difference. I mean I guess over time with my other rom, which was the EvolvedRom or something like that, it became really laggy for whatever reason. Everything moved really, really slow. Battery started draining fast and taking forever to charge. Way too long.

Now that I wiped everything and installed Mik 2.61, it's like a brand new phone.

Keep cache cleaned with dalvic and it should stay that way. Also get rid of stuff that you don't use. Do weekly cleans of Emails, SMS/MMS, and Call Logs. As these things build up they take more space which slows things down.

Yeah I do have a habit of never deleting anything. I have thousands of texts and never delete any emails or call log. Will start doing that from now on

if i'm not mistaken, emails are not stored on your phone but on your clients server (please correct me if i'm wrong)... text's and call log's, yes... sort thru and trash what you don't need... browser history and cache also, this can add up an amount to a bunch... wiping your cache and dalvik every once in a while doesn't hurt... it's good practice, IMO...

Yeah I love the new 3.5 roms, but something about ALL of them seems a bit too laggy. Whenever I know i'm going to be in a situation that is going to require peak phone performance I always use mikg.

My phone worked best with myn's roms, but he hasnt posted anything for a long time (assuming he moved on to e3d?) but mik's were always a close 2nd, and now by default his are 1st. But the best 3.5 rom i've found is the one he works on with newtoroot on miks forum. Best sense based evo roms, hands down.

Warm 2.3 should be around the corner;) My guess is as soon as the Evo3D warm rom is stable, he will port that rom to the Evo 4G

The best way to have the 1000s of text messages to not lag your phone is to use GoSMS PRO, once installed, move it to SD card, then download and install GO SMS Widget, then leave that on the phone so your notification icons still work. then all the texts reside on the SD and not lag the phone. Also, disable or freeze the stock Messenger as it likes to also keep copies of texts hidden on the phone memory.
