Check here if you got the OTA update!

I just saw a response in a thread saying that the OTA update began to roll out in the Northeast as of April 20th.

I'm in Boston, MA and haven't gotten one yet to my knowledge (I'm assuming that the TB will give a notification for this like my OG Droid did.)

Anyway, chime in w/your location if you GOT the OTA update, and when if possible. Let us know if it fixed any problems (or not) you were having.

Thanks!

I got the update last week, I'm rooted :p

The battery is a lot better, as is the transition between 4G and 3G and vice versa. I noticed I'm getting a much stronger signal at my house now, but I don't know if it's related to the update

Is this update basically the same as the leaked update? If it is I'm not going to.bother downgrading to get the official one.

Hey, thanks for this thread - makes it a convenient spot to check in on this roll out and its outcome!

They're the same. All of the updates are released weeks, sometimes months before VZW actually starts pushing them out to our devices.

I don't think they are the same, personally. The leaked update that is supposedly the OTA has a problem with random reboots. I doubt Verizon will push that update in that condition.

I havent experienced any reboot at all...

I didn't experience it initially either. Then after about a day I saw my phone reboot on my desk, it silenced the thunder sound during the boot animation as well. Was kind of weird, decided to revert back to stock until the OTA gets officially pushed.

My phone also experiences random reboots after installing the leaked update. Wish I would've waited now. Only reboots maybe 1 time a day but still it's a pain.

Hmmmmm..... I thought I was seeing things - That did happen to me yesterday, but until it becomes a problem I'll keep the upgrade because everything else still works better.

What kind of notification are they pushing once the OTA update is out there? Will your phone ask you if you want to install it or will it just push the update? I'd like to see what's included in the update (and what they're taking away since they tend to lock down some other feature that maybe shouldn't have been included) and what effect if any it'll have on the phone.

The phone will always give you an option on whether you want to install the update, it will never force it on you. You should be notified via the notification bar.

Weren't people mentioning random reboots before this?

If you look back in this forum you will find it.

Ok, you can think that, but they are. For what it's worth I've never had a reboot since I installed the update

I am rooted and updated the update with the entire RUU file then added BAMF 1.5 remix. No reboots for me either after about 4 days now.

I wouldn't be surprised if the phone restarts on people when they dont even notice. Most of the roms that I have used had the startup sound silent or at work I have the phone on silent anyways. Who knows really if it has rebooted in my pocket or not. Even the author of BamF rom has said that the reboots probably are related to the new radio. I am using the updated RUU but with the older radio now. Also the new Radio is not ready for prime time, I still get better reliable connection with the older radio. It takes forever to connect to 4g and lot of the time I see the up arrow light up and I cant do any browsing until that up arrow is not lit.

Depending on what apps you have running it would be pretty easy to tell if there was a random reboot while in sleep mode. I have to manually add a couple apps to the notification bar after a reboot.

Kinda strange some people would have the issue as often as once, or more, a day, and some would have none.

Has anyone gotten the update on a non rootes phone? I haven't seen anythinf on my pphone and I live in nyc
