I was opening my pool yesterday!! even though its still chilly here...low 60's and rainy:( no matter cuz the water is still a greenish brown color:rolleyes:.. I have to super shock it again! supposed to be 80 tomorrow but then back to 58 on friday:(

A 500 kg English bomb from ww2 is found during dredging in the city of Leiden just now. Lots of drama. Risky thing going on. We live on the other side of town though. It could go off. We find one now and then. A special army unit is there to secure it. Normally they bring it to the coast and let it go off on the beach, in a safe area. It could destroy a couple of square kms. Homes are being cleared now, all traffic in the surroundings is blocked. It has one but highest alarm code we know. Scary stuff...
 
I know, they found one similar a few years back just outside of our village. They had it all planned, it was a strict military operation. The entire village was cleared. We had to leave our home for a day, including pets. We had to make proof of our valuables for if it would explode unexpectedly. Everything fenced to keep burglars out. They bring it elsewhere to secure it (closer to my home, but still far enough) and then to the beach to let it explode in a deep sandhole.
Like I said, it's at a safe distance this time. No worries.

Happy they didn't call me in (yet) professionally (as spokes woman/public relations/media watching and.. stuff).
 
went fishing 2 days ago.. after work.
caught a 22inch big mouth bass!!!!
it was fun pulling that monster to shore.

walking back to the car at 10pm
with an electric lantern
I almost stepped on a snake.
looked like a water moccasin
it looked longer than 3 ft long.

So what you're saying Dan is that you snagged an 8" carp and lost your lure. On your way back to your car to get another one, you tripped over a stick. ;)

We call them "fish stories". :vroam:
 
I also caught a 20" carp and threw that back in... and a bunch of 12-14 inch sand bass...

was hopping to catch a hybrid bass.
