If Hubby Dear and me would wish to renew our wedding vows... in the US... just because we could... would that only be possible in Nevada?

as I know it.. there is NOTHING required to do.. to renew the wedding vows.
it can be done anyplace you want. it aint a legal action.

just need: wife and hubby.. and a witness (not really)

Err... it would be a renewal for us... but we didn't marry in the US the first time... so it would be a new one for the US but not for us....

I am sorry.. I might be misunderstanding something.

you 2 were married outside the United States of America?
where you are married has NOTHING to do with it. Married is Married.
the USA will recognize your marriage by any country or religion.

what is it that you are trying to accomplish? legal paperwork? immigration?

Our marriage is not recognized in the US. Since we are there in September, it would be cool to redo it, just because. No higher cause. :D

If you don't need to change your legal status you could just have any JP, Judge, or whomever do the marriage without having the "power vested in them by whichever state" to make it a US legal thing. Dan's right. If you would like a legal marriage certificate, you could check the the Town/City clerk where you would like the ceremony and see what's required. Some states require you get the license a few weeks before. Others, like Nevada, let you get a license on the spot.

Exactemundo :D And where can we do it the right way, on the spot? Fun is allowed (a Muppets marriage for instance) :D

I would recommend Las Vegas or Reno then.. No waiting period and chapels on every corner heck you can even get married at the drive thru:) it's all legal and legit and recognized by the u s of a
We got married in Jamaica .. And we are legally married here in the states... So I don't think you have to be married in USA to be recognized .. Lots of people have destination marriages
The. Again we did have to file it with some official office of something ... I think :/ hmmmm I wonder if I'm really married at all!!!!:D

Sounds like fun kaat!! Congratulations and best wishes!!:)

Yeah, well, it was fun doing the first time, twelve years ago. It would be cool redoing it :) Just because we can :) We had some laughs imagining the mommies faces if we would sent them pics in September, of us dressed up as Kermit and Miss Piggy in a wedding chapel :)
