This weekend..

This is interesting... The Dutch start-up Famatic has started a campaign on Kickstarter to get the production going of a digital frame that can be managed remotely.
The digital frame is a cool way for elderly to stay updated with photos of grandchildren, for example.
The frame has an Internet connection and users can send photos through the website or Famatic app to an email address. There is also a link to Facebook and Instagram to send photos directly to the device. The owners of the frame will be notified that there are new pics by means of a sound.
The digital photo frame has an 8 "IPS LCD with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels, a total of four speakers for audio playback with videos and a dual-core ARM SOC with two processor cores at 1.5 GHz. The built-in battery has a capacity of 4300mAh and might show four hours of continuous pictures. The Famatic also has cameras and a microphone, which can be possibly used for video calling but the software does not support that yet.
The start-up thinks that $ 75,000 is necessary for the production of the first batch. That money should be in within about a month.

It would be cool to hang those frames in our parents homes, and we can update them during our trips abroad :D
