Funny I was coming back to this thread to state I see they have one on ebay now.

3500mAh Extended Battery 4 Samsung Galaxy Indulge R910 | eBay

Can beat that price! Guess I have to retire my home mad case that never failed me! LOL.

I wonder though, is this battery going to need the training like the other one I had ( see prev post's ).

Calibrating it correctly? ;) Charge to 100% while off, boot, wipe battery stats in CWM. If you continue to have issues, follow the reset instructions above

Haven't tried it, but will try it after a few days of messing around with my extended battery..

The battery life on this thing is ridiculous. I spent all night trying to change settings to use as little battery as possible. At the end of the night it was completely dead. I left it charging over night for about 6 or 7 hours, got up to go to work and it was only at 72% charge. After about 2 hours of work it was at 50%, another hour it was at 36% and now I am fighting to keep it turned on at 5%, note its been on the charger all day.

I clear all ram

This does not exist in the indulge , at least I dont see it.

Yes it does! Boot your phone into recover by shutting down your phone then press power and the R key on your slide out keyboard and hold both until phone powers up to the samsung screen then release both keys (Clockworkmod needs to be installed for this)

now you should see text in purple scroll down to advanced (using the volume keys) press the power key while on advanced (or camera key depending on your version of CWM) now scroll down to wipe battery data and press the power key (or camera key once angain depending on version of CWM)

you have just wiped the battery data

NOTICE: it is recommended that you have a full 100% charge when you do this.

yeah I have boot with r, but didnt have CW installed. Will try that. Guessing you mean there free rom manager?

:: I see this "flash clockworkmod recovery" in my rom manager app I downloaded. However, in the list of phones, no indulge? Is this what you meant?

- ok apparently so http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-clockwork-recovery-to-your-android-phone/

  1. From your phone, launch the Android Market and search for a free app called ‘ROM Manager’. Once found, install it. You can also find it at AppBrain using the link given below, or scan this QR Code to get it directly on your phone.
  2. Once it has been installed, launch ‘ROM Manager’ on your phone.
  3. In ROM Manager, tap ‘Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’. Specify or confirm your phone model if prompted during the process, and follow any on-screen instructions.
  4. Be patient as ClockworkMod is installed, as it can take quite some time. Once the process if finsihed, you have ClockworkMod installed on your phone.

What shale I pick for step 3? I tried galaxy s, but get this
e:Failed to verify whole-file signature
e: signature verification failed.
install aborted.
YES, my phone is rooted.

I' confused, if you can get recovery on your phone, why is there a bounty out for it?

k0nane, is the active developer on that I think. Maybe they just didnt update the progress.

Back to the battery....the Continuum battery's polarity is correct. I have had it in the phone for several hours at a time. So if it works in the Continuum, it will work in the the Indulge.

And I did hear back from that extruded plastic manufactuer I contacted about back covers for @ersfrangel. Anyone got $100,000.00 for start up costs? LOL

I just bought this extended battery +cover+charger set-up.

I haven't rcvd. the new battery yet. I have the Samsung Indulge SCH-r910.

I'm a newbie with no prior experience with this phone. Using it on MetroPCS system. $60.00/mo. No contract, EVERYTHING UNLIMITED! Liking it so far.

Ok, if you dont clear the battery stats its only a waste. Let me know if you have any luck. I think we need to do the flash manually but I can not find the flash.

UPDATE:: ok I got... Man I tell you sometimes I think people get a kick out of laughing at others that are new this? Because, really.. this is pathetically simple! Anyone could have answered this, fortunately now I can!.

If you have an indulge phone clockworkmod from the market, will not work to clear batter stats, you need purple addition. All the info you need is on google. You must use the debug mode and can see here for how.

Does anyone know where to find a feature list for purple? Looks like it has a lot of great tools, but I dont see any installed apps to work with. Is it only a recover tool upgrade?

Stupid question, but does this ROM fix the problem with the extended batteries not charging in the phone?
========================

Is the only problem with the extended battery that it wont charge in the phone w/o the clockworkmod or clearing the battery stats? I don't think that would be much of a problem with an external charger or am I completely in left field? Thanks for the reply.

You are correct the external charger is immune to this issue. However your cell phone will not know the accurate level your battery is at.

First off thanks to all of you who have given your 2 cents to help better our phones. I might join in on the convos but I read this forum like I should do the bible (lol).

But quick question. I know this would be opinion based, but by FACT, which extended battery would everyone recommend at the end of the day?

I see alot of stats but seeing as I'm a noob to this rooting and customization related stuff, I didn't want to jump right in without some expert support.

Thanks in advance!

My Phone:
Indulge (of course) with Exodus 0.6 and Launcher Pro set-up (looks and works greats)

I got this battary 3 days ago and i poped it in charged it for 20 mins to get it back to 100% and when i was done i went into cwm wiped the the battary stats and the thing was going from 3:30pm to 2:46pm till it died,and i text play and talk all day.....I say it was a suscess:-}

Have been running, for 24 hours, with wifi on (and 4g untouched[on]). And I have 48% left on the battery.

Out of the 24 hours, I talked for about 30 mins and played for another 30 mins..

I'm expecting another 20-24 hours out of it.

I agree I tested with 4g on and get well over 24 hours on it, there is no longer a need to turn of 4g ;)

The big downfall for me is the time it takes to charge this thing. Anyone know of an external ( 3 pin ) power charger? I think in general you dont want the battery to fall under %50 during use but it be nice to have.

I try not to let my phone past %15..

Have you tried charging it while off?

Anybody break their extended cases yet? I have 1 good size'd crack, and another crack near the headphone..
BTW I've dropped it about 4 times from around 3 feet..

Have you tried charging it while off?
Yeah, heck of a lot faster, but I'd like to have the phone in use. I will now have two extended batteries so I'm going to try to find an external charge for it.

no but it can not be long for ebay to start showing the cases for sale.

=============================================

I've charged the 3600 mah extended batt. in the phone a few times and all seems to be working OK...while not ""rooted" and no batt. stats cleared. I received the batt. with 65% charge.

Will check the overnight drain with 4G on and off and will post results. So far it looks like -1%/hour sleeping with with 4G off. The case can get warm with hours of surfing with either batt.

One problem...the hole in the case for the power/lock button wasn't quite large enough and was intermittently holding the button in a position that caused "Samsung" to cycle on and off the screen. I'll leave that anomaly for you experts. (Thought it was the new batt.) No further problem after enlarging the hole...so far. (The ext. charger also works fine. I read a post where the light is pink when charging and blue when installed correctly.)

I like the feel of the heftier package which isn't that much larger. The external charger has me wondering why only 2 terminals when the batt. has three? Some kind of ground return??

"Will check the overnight drain with 4G on and off and will post results."
===============================================

The 3600 mah battery lasts a hair over 2 days (down to 15%) with medium surfing and a few calls thrown in. No problems noted and batt. indications seem accurate (same as with original batt.) That's very good and no messing around with rooting or wiping the batt. stats. either. I stopped the 4G between calls and lowered the display brightness to ~45% which is still very good with no direct sunlight.

After reading through these forums - hours and hours of input from you guys - you guys are great! I am in a prickly situation with the phone. Since I have decided I cannot root it because Metro WILL NOT let me insure it or warranty replace it, I am stuck leaving it with all the excess crap that I don't want or need and is killing my battery. (.....and I thought the Finesse was bad!)

I have tried the whole remove 4G from it, opting out of myExtras, not running a live wallpaper, I have the advanced task killer.

None of it seems to help. I literally woke up at 8am the other morning to the alarm on the phone. Shut off the alarm, Battery Solo Widget (thank you for that) said 100% when I unplugged it and hit kill all on the task manager. At 8:15 I was in the car, not having touched the phone since then, and Battery Solo now said 68%. WTF is up with that?

What other suggestions do you guys have for me to try and better this? I keep it plugged in all day via USB at work, car charger in the car. Friday I went to Catalina Island, however, and nothing could be done but to let it die on the island.

I have noticed that when it gets to 0% on the battery - the wall charger WILL NOT charge it. I have to plug it into the USB to let it charge up to at least 5%, then the wall charger will charge it again.

I cannot stand that it discharges while it's plugged in. Freakin' sucks.
