CheckROM Revolution HD now out!

Has anyone managed to get screen capture to work? I've had a search and the only solution anyone seems to have is to instal screen capture from the kitchen. I've tried that and everything looks like its flashed but when my phone boots there's no sign of it and screen capture still won't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it... early days for this ROM though.

Here's the fix, download screen capture in Kitchen but do not install, find the zip in download > checkrom, move it to /sd card, reboot into cwm recovery and install from there.

Voila!!

You might want to flush the cache and dalvik first, I did.

Nah, hasn't worked. Everything looks like its flashed again, I get the complete message but when I reboot nothings changed.

Well it definitely worked for me... timing the triple-press right seems to be a bit trickier though, but I could be imagining things.

Here's a screenie for proof:

It did take me a few goes to get the timing right... there may well be something else causing problems on your S2 of course... give it a few more goes and hit the home key a fraction of a second before the other two.

Get it to work once and you're there.

Well it wasn't my timing that was out. I had to do a full wipe and reflash the rom. Now everything works. Thanks for your time. By the way, the 2 button power and menu method still works.

Yippeeee now installed. Super smoothip.

But......

Have tried to instal 3 themes and each time don't instal properly and get loss of connection and "unknown base band", and have had to restore nandroid backup.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Are these themes from the "Kitchen" or independent ones?

I found that unless a theme was specifically for KI4 (i.e. JKay's v12.1 themes) that they would not install. For instance, JKay's v12 themes would not install on Revolution and I had to wait until last night for the release of v12.1.

Hope this helps. :D

Themes from the kitchen

Oh well, that's one idea down. :(

How about trying to install a JKay, v12.1, theme from here:-

[Theme/Mod/Apk] XXKI4, XWKI8 - JKay Deluxe v12.1 - How the SGS2 should be! 2011-10-21 - xda-developers

which I know works on this ROM (I didn't use any of the kitchen themes I'm afraid).

Basically, trying to see if it's the theme or the ROM that's causing the issue as I remember reading in the myriad of posts on their website yesterday that there were some theme problems.

Not tried the themes yet as been out all day and not had the time. But boy this rom is snappy and seems good on battery do fast.

Couldn't agree with you more Sydney99!

It takes the SGSII to a whole new level. This was the ROM yesterday that I knew was definitely a, "keeper".

However, late last night, UK time, Dlev7 released his ROM3, based on KI4, and it too is everything that this ROM is but, possibly... just possibly, a little faster.

I now have both on my phone and am switching between them as I cannot decide.

If KI4 is this much of an improvement, just imagine what ICS must be like as it is said to bring a 30-40% improvement.

We're just never satisfied are we? :D

Power and home works for me. Dunno where the 3 button idea came from, think I've been trying to absorb too much info too quickly!

Sorry for the confusion.

No need to worry. I might still have been screwed if you weren't there to throw ideas at.Some times that's all it takes to jog a memory. So thanks again.;)

JKay's v12.1 themes for this ROM are out now! :)

I just flashed mine through CWM "Flash update".

Make sure you download the deodexed themes.

Don't forget to download the v12.1 Settings .apk. It comes as a .zip file which contains the .apk that has to be placed on your SD card. Navigate to it and select it with a file manager to install.

Do you need to download the settings apk? Doesn't this get automatically installed with the rom (I got the delux settings icon in apps). How do you know what version of jkay currently installed?

Oh, most definitely you need the JKay Settings v12.1 .apk.... that's where all the goodies for his themes are! :)

Like putting Screen Capture on the Power Menu instead of doing Home+Power.

Just download it, unzip it and install to SD Card and use a file manager to install it.
