Root ChevyNo1 - Ssx 1.1 ROM

I had issues with this and the Revolution theme. No issues with LPP however, and I have had to swap out ADW on so many ROMs it's easy for me now. Also LPP has its own themes which would probably work with this ROM. I may try that again after a few more days of Fission 2.2.1

Of course a SSX 1.1 release would be even better!
 
Playing with it, I'm starting to get used to ADW. Not really sure which I like better, they both have their downsides.

I have to admit I got used to BLUR home. Nice thing about SSX is I can use that too, I think
 
The Blur email issue was an easy fix (thanks to a suggestion from someone on another site). I went into Root Explorer's system/app folder and the BlurEmail.apk had been renamed BlurEmail.apk.bak. Simple fix and made me feel like an idiot. Hope it helps anyone else having this issue.

My battery life was definately better on FlyX and I'm waiting patiently for 10% battery increments...other than that, love the ROM.

Oh...and my Market became "unthemed" the other day as well...not sure what that's all about. The green definately clashes with the SSx blue.

My Market shortcut just did the same thing..... Started the day blue and then bang! Now it's green. No big deal but I agree, it clashes with the blueness of SSX.

This ROM is veeeery newbie friendly. It is very easy to install and is also quite stable. It is pre-themed. Personally I like it... a LOT. I like it right up there with the ROM I consider to be the top of the line, which is ApeX.

The good thing is that newbies have quite a selection of fine roms to play with nowadays. We couldn't always say that.

They are:

1) ApeX 1.3.1
2) Fission 2.4.3
3) Chevy ssx 1.1 (this one)
4) GummyJar (I haven't tested this one yet, but I've heard super things about it)
5) RubiX

These are all Newbie friendly. There are other good ones, but they are not as stable, so I can't recommend them to you until there are some bug fixes.

Edit: If while installing ApeX or Ssx 1.1 you get an error message while installing asking your to force close or wait, select wait, then hit the power button and reboot. You'll be fine. It's a glitch with ClockworkMod Recovery.
 
I just installed Chevy SSX 1.1 and it is a very easy install. I appears to as stable as they come and very smooth so far with the no overclock. I think that I might stay on this for a day or two or maybe more. Been wanting to test out GummyJar too, so I will see how impatient I become.
 
This installed just fine for me directly over 3.15 and just thought I would let people know that it went without a problem, used rom manager premium to do it, not sure if that makes a difference but it may.
