Christmas is coming

Sure we got just as much Pepsi as Coke. Although what often seems to happen is, small village stores just have Coke, while many restaurants just have Pepsi. There's a definite pattern to it. BTW it's one of the first things I learned when coming to China, what is Mandarin for "Coca Cola"? LOL

Since my current phone contract expires in Dec. maybe I will be able to get Nexus 4/5 as a gift. Other then that, we usually just buy presents for the grand kids.

The Coca Cola company owns Pepsi, as well as Monster, Dr Pepper, and I think Sprite?

Why do you think the same sodas are always beside Coke in almost every display?

I'm pretty sure the Coca Cola Co. doesn't own PepsiCo. I know they own a lot of soda brands, but then so does Pepsi. I do see a lot of Mountain Dew and Tropicana in stores, which I believe are PepsiCo brands.

If they did try merging or taking over surely that would bring up a huge anticompetitive and antitrust issue. They'd basically be a one company monopoly on the world's supply of soda.

Oh seem to have gone somewhat OT now....back to Christmas. :)

The Coca Cola Company might not have invented Santa, and the image(trademark?) of the jolly old man in red and white. But they're certainly making the most of it. See Santa Claus and subconsciously think..."Drink coke! Drink coke!" What would Coca Cola do if Pepsi were to start up with Santa ads, would they file suit against them for trademark and copyright infringement?

I know there's an Eiffel Tower and Arc de Coca Cola in Shenzhen. A nearly full size replica of the one in Paris, but with a coke ad at the top. I got a picture of it somewhere, see if I can find it.

The show Robot Chicken made a funny skit about Santa beating up the Coca Cola executives for lack of royalty checks lol

Sorry you're right. PepsiCo is its own.

Back to Christmas and a fun little fact I just found, White Rock Beverages was the first beverage company to use Santa in their advertisements in 1915.

Erm.. guys if I ever win the lottery Jackpot I was thinking of giving everyone 100 euros each or maybe 1000 just to spend for Christmas ;) oh and the plans is to spend Christmas with the family... no Christmas is good without the whole family

Ghristmas is a-coming, the goose is getting fat.
Please to put a penny in the old man's hat.
If you haven't got a penny - then a hapenny will do.
If you haven't got a hapenny, then God bless you.

Re - Pepsi and Coke - one is lemon based, the other orange. There is nothing sicker than the old type soda dispenser that the syrup hasn't been cleaned up. Gag a maggot.

Re - Christmas, I still say bite your tongue.

I'm allergic to real Christmas trees. :( So I'm stuck with fake either way. Guess I'll just have to spray it down with artificial smell. :(

Me too. But there is one sort: Nordmann, which is not itching. :)

I don't think so.... :o
Was meaning to say there are types which cause less to none allergic reactions. Ask the sales man. He will know.

I think the worse Christmas I ever had was when I was 7 in Seattle, Washington.

If anyone here has ever lived in Washington (or really any northern state) in the 90s most likely remembers this as the year of meth and heroin.

Well my mom and step dad were junkies then, and they were really broke and spun out..

As a matter of fact I was in Federal Way, Washington. The part where the run down duplexes. Something or another Avenue. If you lived or been around Federal Way most likely you known about the area I am speaking of.

My mom had me flown home on a red eye flight, 'felt I was in danger of my life' probably some meth and lack of sleep induced hallucinations I'm sure.

Well anyway, my dad told me later on the reason why he started hating my mom (after divorce) was because he found me crying in the airport lobby because 'Santa forgot to come to our house' after he told me about it I remembered it. :/

If you think about it...sending you home and away from that horrific life..might of just been the best present you could have gotten...it's scary and sad to think what might have happened to that poor vulnurable little boy...had you stayed..
:(
glad you fought and made it through ...all of it... :)

I would agree :)

It was in a way.

I actually prayed to God I would believe if He allowed me to leave, and it happened that night.

There was good in it, but still like the saddest Christmas I ever had lol
