I will have to mess around with that tonight. Could you fill me in on "abd pull" ?
 
for liberty, i just loaded my orginial file from ECffighter through metamorph onto my phone the same way i did for apex and it works great! I like the color change associated with the drop in battery cause a quick glance tells me the general state of my battery

yeah thats the exact reason I run the color change lol.
 
Adb pull is used to pull a file from the phone.
You will need to download the Android-sdk and get that set up. there are so many tutorials on how to do that just google it.
Once you have it all set up open up a command prompt (i'll assume you're on a PC)
You will need to cd into the androidsdk/tools/ folder and then run the command 'adb devices' no quotes. It should give you a long number. If it doesn't then you didn't set up you're sdk right. after checking to make sure you're comp recognizes it you'll run the command 'adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk framework' again no quotes. the first file path is the location of the framework-res.apk on the device. The second file path is where you want the file to go on your local machine. you are already in the tools directory so that will create a folder in tools called framework and it will be in there.

I tried using the kitchen program that you linked but I got an Error while cooking. Could you take a look for me and let me know. It asked to upload the framework-res.apk file from the Apex 1.3.1 zip. I did that and i got an error any ideas? The pick up page is UOT Kitchen. Pickup the file is UOT-FW-01-22-01-02-1.zip Thanks for your help
 
yeah i was getting errors too. Your best bet would be to not cook it and you remember when it showed you the preview of your battery icons? When you're looking at them right click on 0,10,...90,100 and save them as a .png. the same with the charging ones but you need only 6 images for charging. I did 1,4,8,12,16,21. Then rename the battery icons to stat_sys_battery_0.png, stat_sys_battery_10.png and so on. For the anim ones rename them stat_sys_battery_charge_anim0.png all the way through stat_sys_battery_charge_anim5.png. Then find the framework-res.apk on your computer and open it with a app called 7zip. Google it to download it. From within 7zip you'll navigate to res/drawable-hdpi this lists a lot of .pngs and other images. to make sure you're in the right place scroll down and you should see stat_sys_battery_0.png in there. Move the window to the side and then bring up the window that contains the battery icons you downloaded. Drag them all into this to replace them. Once this is done you then need to save it with 7zip or however you complete it with 7zip (i use a mac so it's all different, sorry). you will then have the edited framework-res.zip. rename it back to .apk and then you can do and adb push. Just like with adb pull but you'll put the path of where its at on your computer first then where you want it on your phone.Sorry this is hurried. I'm trying to head out for the night :p

This might be a stupid question but.....where can I find other mods like this for the 3G or the bars? I haven't found a theme that really mods all of these how I like them. Anyone have a link or two or able to point me in the right direction? :)

Fwiw, after I replace the images in 7zip I press the "back" button (I think It looks like a folder with a green arrow pointing up. Im mobile though so I may be wrong) until it backs out of the framework-res.apk and it says something to the effect of "files have been changed do you want to save. Press yes.
That's for a windows machine btw

Droid pirate has a lot of images you can use. I mainly sift through all the themes and roms out there till I find stuff I like and think "flows" well together.
 
Stupid question #375, to install does one just go through bootstrap recovery and install zip file? No need to rename them to like update.zip
 
Is there a reason that all of the battery meters are set for 10% increments? Are we not able to make it display 1% increments correctly? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
 
The phone only reports 10% increments so there's no way to get more granular measurements out of it.
