Root Clockwork Recovery Question?

What exactly is a clockwork recovery? How do I get into it.

I see it being mentioned a lot but not sure how to get into it.

I am on GB .588 and want to try the Apex 2.0. Instructions say install in clockwork recovery session.

Can someone give me some basic instructions on how to do this?

you need to install D2 or DX bootstraper, which ever the ROM specifies. It will install CWM for you n give you an easy way to reboot into it from the OS. Depending on the ROM u might gain options to reboot into recovery from it.

I'm not real familiar with locked down bootloaders yet n I am use to being able to install full ROMs. So if I am incorrect sum1 please feel free to correct me.
 
OP if your on .588 then you've already been in the clockwork recovery. You had to be in it to flash the 3 part .588 leak.
 
Thank you all for your replies. There is so much information on this forum that at times, I get totally confused.

Not surprised to have been in it and had no clue. :D

Getting the hang of things here slowly... This is addicting.

not true...IIRC .588 was the "OTA" leak right?...many were able to install that by renaming the file to update.zip and installing through stock recovery...

obviously this is not the problem here...but it is the case for many...

newp, that was .573 - installed it as update.zip myself

.588 was the 3 part file install from TBH
