i no ur workin hard but wen do u predict cyanogemond 7 port will be availible

Everyone needs to stop asking this.

There is no ETA and there will be no ETA all of this is done on the devs free time its out when its out and you should be eternally grateful.

I have posted a comprehensive video tutorial for installing CWM, as well as a written version:

Installing ClockWorkMod Recovery on Motorola Triumph Video: Installing ClockWorkMod (CWM) Recovery on the Motorola Triumph by Virgin Mobile - YouTube

Installing CWM on Motorola Triumph Text: Install ClockWorkMod (CWM) Recovery for Motorola Triumph - How To - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com

BIG, HUUUGE thanks to TJStyle69 for doing this, I can't wait to see where development goes!

Minus

1. NEVER EVER EVER ask about ETA's on When roms are coming! The devs will let us know.

2. We are NOWHERE near porting CM7 to the triumph! Think issacj87 said that there's something in the kernal that will prevent cm7 build to boot! So it looks like we have to wait til motorola release sources(and hopefully it will be the kernal source as well)

3. Thanks to issac, and the other badass guys(and gals?) we have a custom recovery!! This is the most important step out of anything!!! Have full backups of this stock rom, custom roms, etc...

4. I know some of y'all are new to android(No Disrespect) but it takes TIME, PATIENCE, DEDICATION for a dev to make sure everything is in order, and can be released to the public(us) So we don't have people saying i "BRICKED" my phone when i flashed this, and that.

I just hate when people ask these "when is 2.3 coming out" and "when will you release the Rom" Devs are good at what they do, but MAJORITY it's up to the company who makes these phones that we must wait on their part(and after having my epic 4g i almost killed samsung with their "We going to release it next week......)

If you want to rush somebody. Go contact motorola and tell them to release the sources!!!

Thank you to Isaac and the other developers who have been working this. I got the epic right after it came out and it still doesn't have cm7. I'll psyched that this might be different.

Fyi, I am a electrical engineer and have some experience with Java and Linux. I would love to help where I could. If you have some jobs you want to delegate off toss me a pm.

just wiped my phone and restored it with clockwork now it wont boot

Anytime you wipe anything with CWM please give the phone time to boot up everything. The kernal has to process information you just registered with CWM.

I just tried it - did a backup, looked at the backed up files - they seem about right. Didn't do a restore yet, waiting for someone to post clean nandroid stock image
(I had done too much stuff to mine by the time CWM arrived.)

Is the progress bar not being used? I didn't watch it the entire time, but every time I looked the bar was at 0, I just saw the list of what was completed.

Keep up the great work tj_style and thanks for the update ardX!

Update Clockworkmod Recovery

can anyone check this work or not in your triumph:D

That's great a newer version of CWM.. we still need the source so we can make zips properly flashable (yes they work but its not built specifically for the triumph)

I made a nandroid backup and compared to the backup I made using tj's first CWM version, this one is missing Android.img

Is that the .android folder from the sd card? Anyone else have this issue on the new CWM version?

100% stock Nandroid Backup

CWM 4.0.1.4 Triumph

Stock Recovery

make sure you install the CWM by going into fastboot (vol - and power on) Hook up usb, then drop the recovery.img in the folder on the MOBILE drive.

Extract "Stock Triumph 1980 01 06.00.00.34.7z" to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/ on the sd. Boot into CWM and look for mounts. First format system, data, cache, and under advanced format dalvik cache, then select "backup and restore" and under the restore options select the Stock_Triumph_1980-01-06.00.00.34 folder, and it will restore a never powered on backup of the stock rom.very[/URL]

Forgive the dumb question, but normally with CWM I see the dots scrolling while it's backing up and it takes quite a bit longer. Is this one just different? Or can it not be used to backup yet?

4.0.0.9 here

edit: evidently it worked based on the file sizes... guess I haven't backed up a "vanilla" phone in awhile... ;)
