Root ClockWorkMod v5.0.2.7 (file system/recovery utility) update 01/12/12 FIXED

Here yah go, everything your need !

Install drivers first :

32-bit Drv : http://db.tt/eGN4acLK
64-bit Drv : http://db.tt/IlIkQ4BV

( only need to install one of them, depends what version of Win you have ! )

FE16_Rooted_CWM : http://db.tt/ORBp3o3J

Do it like the "Dummies Guide" says and you should be rooted in no time ! ;)

Little advise :

After flashing FE16 with Odin, create your partition depending on the size of the SD-Card you have, then format the newly created "sd-ext" ( NOT the sd-card ), then install CTMod3.68 and boot up your phone. Then go to "Settings>>>CTMod settings>>>>Koumasettings and select DATA and put a checkmark in...... Then hold your power button down and boot into "Recovery", then format your sd-ext again and boot up...........voila !!!
 
Sorry for bugging you guys, but can you post a thread with Odin? i downloaded one but it doesn't look like the one in the picture from the dumbies guide
 
He downloaded the Odin which was originally included in the FE16_Root_CWM.zip file !! Not sure why the pics are different.....

Are you connecting the phone before you open Odin or after?
 
can you send me a zip of the factory restore for prevail? i rooted my girls phone and she wants it to be factory....

That theme is specifically for ctmod. it will not work with any other ROM, fyi
 
Not sure if im in the right spot...first time posting.....sorry! Im having sort of the same problem..odin says reset..but the phone sits there and never reboots...then odin says closing serial port and waiting for reboot. And when I hit start it only takes about 5 seconds to get there! Really fast!! Im a samsung prevail.....boost.....rooted gingerbread 2.3.5....pretty new to this so yea...i could use ANY help possible! THANK YOU!! Very much!!

You don't have the drivers installed or have the wrong ones.

Which version of windows are you using?
 
Hey Lord...please let me know if I am posting wrong...or if Im in the wrong spot would you please? I have windows xp...I got to the point where I had almost every cwm for prevail ..sph-m800 for odin ...Hroarks etc.....tried everything including reinstalling the drivers each time from each zip. Usb cable on charge...then tried it on mass storage...Im going to try again in just a little bit...and I will make note of exactly what I do...and exactly what the pc and my phone does exactly so you will know also! I was at it for HOURS...got a little groggy! I will be back shortly....and Thank you LordVincent!! I appreciate very much!
 
OK... I Know the problem... you need to have the phone in DOWNLOADING mode... power the phone off, and hold volume down +camera +power until you see the word 'downloading' on the screen in yellow... then try Odin again :)
 
Ok lord....Im working with cwm v5.0.2.6 samsung prevail sph m820 by Hroark
No prev version installed...so installing w/ odin
I dl an extract to desktop...copy stickzip to sd..
I left the drivers alone this time....usb cable on charge...no debug
No airplane mode....sd card unmounted an removed
Pwr off...pulled battery this time...power phone into download
Plug in usb...pc finds new hardware....first it finds sphm820
then samsung mobile modem etc...then says hw ready
I open odin...get yellow box says 1(com5)....one pack checked
ops gets the hroark sphm820..ops...an 1package gets thesphm820odin-1p
auto rb...protect ops checked...reset time of 300
Hit start and goes like this:
In exactly 5 secs it goes
DL start
<0>create file
<1>start thread detected:1
then 2 through 8 say start thread detected:0
<1>setup connection..
<1>odin mode...checl plcatform verification
<1>verify platform:v76,p73,r16710
<1>start!!!
<1>set download enviroment
<1>big partition size!!
<1>recovery .img download..
<1>1/1 finished
<1>reset pda...
<0>started timer
<1>close serial port and wait until rebooting
<1>Pass!!
<0>destroy instant...
<0>killed timer
And thats it!! Like I said,it does all that in 5 secs! Phone does not reboot...i close odin
unplug usb...reboot an all is fine...except no cwm! Ive tried everything both ways...debug-no debug....airplane mode-no airplane mode etc...
Now lord,if I leave everything the same...including drivers and I try again....it only makes it to big partion size and hangs there,for an hour before I pull it!
And im pretty sure Hroark goes farther than the others....
What do you think lord....and THANKS again! I honestly didnt expect a reply this quick....thats awesome!!!
 
Wow...long weekend! I have tried the "dummie"one lord...16,19,etc and I couldnt get them to work. But...i will be honest...i have some medical issues that at times makes it difficult for me to remember things sometimes....and right now I cant remember which one I used to achieve root! Kinda sucks lord! I probably should have written things down since I had so many on my desktop! Is there some way to tell which one was used on rooted phones? And do I HAVE to unroot before I try a different one? Would the trouble im having now have anything to do with the bootloader? I appreciate your help and your time lord! Thank you!!
