Root ClockWorkMod v5.0.2.7 (file system/recovery utility) update 01/12/12 FIXED

:UPDATE:
If you have taken the EE14 official update you need to remove /system/etc/intall-recovery.sh
If you do not remove this file the stock recovery gets flashed back when phone is rebooted

i have looked for this file its not in there but i have the update ohh well ill try it anyways

ok i tried it nothing messed up but the cwm partition sd card doesnt work it says i need cwm recovery first ?

describe in detail, step by step everything you are trying to do

I already created an EE14 fix and provided a download for it, please re-read first and second post in this thread

When you partition the sd card you should already be in CWM, so I have no ideal what you are trying to do

i followed the instructions exactly i just cant find the file system/etc/intall-recovery.sh to get rid of it.
when i go into rom manager and hit partition sd card a popup appears and says you must have cwm recovery installed before continuing! install the recovery through rom manager first. i click install and it says confirm phone model prevail is not on the list ? but as far as your instructions went everything went perfect so what am i doing wrong here and if i need to return to stock and start over please point me in the direction of the directions please. and thanks

I have a question I rooted my prevail wih the on click root posted on this, but it seems it didnt fully root. I have superuser but no busy box. I cant access any of the factory set apps i wanted to delete, not even layar ect... when i go to phone info it my baseband is EE14 not sure if thats what it was prior to the attempt to root. Ive tried to reroot it but it just gives me the same thing. I want to know what to do? should i just factory reset? someone suggested using ordin but i didnt see the reason to being that my boots and is functioning plus i dont want to keep experimenting and brick my phone. i just wanted to clear some internal memory by removing those uneccesary apps that came with the phone. All the kool launchers and customizations can wait. Any suggestions on where to go from here??

did odin have a yellow box with com number? if odin does not have a yellow box with com number it is not seeing phone

did you install samsung drivers
did you try different usb cable / usb port

im assuming before being that i didnt do any updates to it after rooting. the only thing ive been trying to do is to get it fully rooted. I didnt check the bandbase or build number before attempting root.

copy i'm gonna try that in a few minutes and see what happens, i have shabbymod .9 if that matters, does my sd have to be partitioned first?

did you root your phone before or after you updated to ee14?

Im assuming it was before being that i did not do any updates following attempting the root. I didnt check the bandbase or build number prior to ruinning one click root. Im new to this, this is my first android im in the learning phase.

I'll give it a try, Ive already backed up my files soo worse case i brick the damn thing. Thanks for the advice :)

you shouldn't need to worry about that ODIN will just put you back to stock setup but with root and the kernel and cwm updates .. in fact odin is how you fix a brick:D

there is a thread on link2sd

I would like to try to keep this thread on topic with issues related to CWM

there are already too many off topic post, and when someone is trying to resolve and issues that has already been answered, they are going to have to read threw 20 pages of off topic post to find that answer

so please post your questions in the link2sd thread, i do not really have any experience with link2sd, so I will not be much help
