Root Cm10 bug?(?) Maybe, or just bad root.

I figured I would bring this to you guys and see what we can find. I recently rooted and am running cm10. I have no sound, it was playing through my headphones for a bit but never speaker.
 
i do not think that your issue is a bad root. no such thing really as a bad root. once you have root access you are rooted. now it could be a software issue or hardware issue. have you tried other roms and see if sound comes back? i think i saw that dustwun might have fixed the sound issue when he updated to the latest firmware. i'm about to flash cm10 so i will let you know if i am having the same issue.
 
Well I know about brick! That's a bad root indeed. I've tried to DL other ROMs but they aren't linked on goo manager, ROM manager won't let you use it if you don't use cwm. So I try and try but always d/c. If there were a peer to peer I'd have it in about 15 minutes.

While GooManager is much better than ROM Mananger I would really just do everything manually including downloading my ROMS. I know we have to use Goo to get updates for twrp as its their prefered way one of the things I don't like about them.

I don't mind putting them on torrent but I need the dev's permission to do so. I personally love torrents and think they are much better than the traditional downloads when it comes to bigger files
 
I agree. One of the greatest reasons for PC gaming success today is the fact that they use peer to peer. It means any connection can DL and play. Even 3g, used to raid on it :). If they do allow it let me know.

To now I have to reboot and fix permissions.
 
If I have to reboot one more time I'm taking a dremil to it so it will make noise!
 
well i flashed cm10 and so far no issues with sound. however, i did screw up google wallet as stupid ole me did not reset it before i flashed cm10. oh well never use it really.

You bricked it? Thats too bad, I thought google stored everything in the cloud now so you couldnt brick the secure element anymore
 
Holy crap. Was without 3g 4g for over 4 hours today. Was on the phone with sprint for 1 and one simple network data reset I have full function back.

oh nice!!!!!! weird. they did a data reset on there end? did they have you enter epst codes on your phone?
 
I've had them do it a few times on mine too. I they just refresh the connection from their end. No codes or anything like that
 
I think k so **xxxxxx* PW menu reset.

Found the culprit to my sound bug kinda. Whenever I make or receivie a call I loose all sound.
